INTERNATIONAL SELECTION: LITH IS WORLD CUP BOUND
We have some fantastic news that Lith, year 11, has officially been selected for the England Indoor Cricket U17 Girls squad and will be competing in the Junior World Series in South Africa this coming September.

Lith travelled to India earlier this year to hone her skills and prove herself on the international stage. To make an England squad at any level is an outstanding honour, and we could not be prouder of her dedication to the sport.

Please join us in sending massive congratulations to Lith. We will all be cheering her on when she flies out to represent the country in South Africa this September.

DARTS SUCCESS FOR SAM
A huge well done to Sam, who recently battled his way to the final of a highly competitive Under-13 tournament in Mansfield!

Aiming to follow in the footsteps of darts sensation Luke Littler, Sam’s success has caught the attention of Mr Andrews, who is eagerly looking forward to challenging Sam to an exhibition match at school later this year.

Good luck Mr Andrews—we think you might need it! Congratulations Sam!

EUROPE DAY 2026
What an incredible week celebrating Europe Day! Our pupils fully immersed themselves in European culture, languages, and, of course, fantastic food.

Our action-packed week included:

Celebrity Language Hunt: Pupils tracked down posters of multilingual stars to see how learning a language broadens horizons.

A Taste of Europe: The canteen was packed for free daily food samples! Pupils ate their way through Spain, Greece, Italy, and the Netherlands with chorizo, tzatziki, bruschetta, and frikandellen.

Spanish Film Night: A screening of Zip Zap and the Marble Gang, complete with popcorn and fizzy drinks.

Quizzes & Treasure Hunts: From a competitive Disney song language quiz to a lunchtime landmark treasure hunt around the school.

Shared Values: Mr. Walker’s assemblies wrapped up the week by exploring the deep similarities between British and European values.

A massive thank you to Mr. Walker and his department for organizing such a brilliant, fun-filled week!

COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP SUCCESS: SILVER & A NEW PERSONAL BEST FOR ALASTAIR!
Huge congratulations to Alastair in Year 10, who delivered a spectacular performance at the recent Leicestershire County Championships.

Competing against the top junior athletes in the region, Alastair secured a fantastic 2nd place finish in the gruelling 800m track event. He pushed through the finish line to clock a brilliant new Personal Best time of 2 minutes and 8.38 seconds.
Taking home, a silver medal alongside a new PB is a massive achievement and a true testament to his hard work, grit, and dedication to his training.

The entire school community is incredibly proud of you, Alastair—keep up the fantastic running!

DUKE OF EDINBURGH BRONZE EXPEDITION
Huge congratulations to 51 of our year 10 pupils who absolutely smashed their weekend expedition! Setting off from Beaumanor Hall, they conquered two days of challenging trekking and independent navigation.

Day 1: An impressive 18km hike through Barrow, Mountsorrel, and Quorn, followed by tent pitching, a lively game of manhunt, and some "creative" camp cooking (shoutout to the group navigating frozen burgers! ).

The Resilience: Despite freezing overnight temperatures, everyone woke up on Saturday with a smile and fierce determination.

Day 2: Another 18km through Woodhouse Eaves, Swithland, and Bradgate Park, with students confidently leading their groups using map-reading skills. ️

A massive thank you to our amazing staff for the checkpoint cheers and much-needed sweet treats. We are incredibly proud of every single student and can't wait for them to share their experiences with Year 9 soon!
