All the flowers are blooming so I'm sure all the garden elves and fairies are very busy at the moment. There are several ways you can make you can make some lovely elves and fairies out of natural materials, here are a couple of ideas.

Elderflower cordial is a lovely drink and quite easy to make at home. I'm sure Little Ones would enjoy collecting the flowers and getting hands on with the straining process; slicing the citrus fruit is a good opportunity to practise using knives too.
The elder trees are in flower at the moment but the blossoms should be gathered on calm, sunny days, (this gives the best flavour) so if you would like to give this a go it seems you'll have a few days to gather the rest of your supplies. π§π¦
The recipe below uses lemons but elderflower cordial is just as yummy when made with oranges. Other citrus fruits would also work, feel free to experiment and find your favourite version.
The elder tree is also known as the Witches Tree, so if you go gathering, remember to ask permission before you cut. π§ββοΈπ

My children love Cleavers, it's a common plant that grows in lots of different places. They enjoy throwing it at each other's clothes, where it sticks, hopefully without the wearer noticing - it leads to much sniggering and giggling.
Because it is so sticky it weaves together really well and can be used to make a quick crown or garland. If you want to be fancy and decorate your garland it also holds on to the stems of other flowers and leaves.
You may know Cleavers by one of its other many names Goose Grass, Grip Grass, Bed Straw, Sticky W**d, Sticky W***y, Sticky Jack and my favourite, Bobby Buttons. π

Today is World Bee Day πso if you are out enjoying the sunshine keep your eyes and ears open for our busy, buzzy friends.π
Perhaps you could make a drinking station for bees to use in your garden or on a window sill. Fill a shallow bowl with water, then add some stones, marbles or beads for the bees to land on so they can drink.ππ¦
Or maybe you could plant some flowers that bees like to collect nectar from.ππΌπΉπ₯
