During Sun Awareness Week..
The children at our Melton Road nursery learnt about how to stay safe in the
sun, including what they should wear and keep on during hot weather โ๏ธ
They also enjoyed a name-recognition activity, placing the letters of their names correctly onto a yellow sun. This supported their fine and gross motor skills, hand-eye coordination, communication and language development. It helped them build sentences using new key words of up to 4โ6 words. The children also practiced important social skills such as taking turns, sharing, waiting patiently for their turn ๐
We encouraged the children to explore the messy play tuff tray. During this activity, they used scoops to pour into ice cream cones, showing good hand-eye coordination and strong concentration. This play experience also helped to develop their confidence, control with the enjoyment of sensory learning.

๐ฅ Cooking, grating carrots, taking risks during play to learn how to stay safe.
๐ฉบ Role play doctors, developing our understanding of people who help us.
๐ Cutting a lemon with a knife, developing an understanding of what the inside of a lemon looks like.

Celebrations at our Parkview Nursery recently for David Attenborough's 100th Birthday..
The children spent the whole day playing outside enjoying nature๐ฟ
They also had an amazing time taking part in wonderful animal activities exploring, learning, and connecting with the world around them ๐
From discovering different animals to enjoying the fresh air and outdoor adventures, it was a truly special day filled with curiosity, fun, and appreciation for our planet ๐๐๐ฆ

We had a visit from the Spinney Hill Park Police Station at our Parkview Nursery..
On the day PCSO Georgina came by to talk to our parents and children about road safety. She shared the book โTales of the Roadโ for parents and carers to take home and enjoy with their families..
She brought along plenty of dress-up outfits, which the children loved wearing as they pretended to be police officers ๐ฎ๐ฎโโ๏ธ
It was great to find out more about the equipment carried by police officers and police community support officers, and how they help us when needed. We also found out what they wear, which differ between female and male officers. She also encouraged us to say โhelloโ when we see them. Thank you for your visit; we look forward to welcoming you again soon ๐

Our young explorers have been busy discovering the amazing world of insects and sea creatures at our Angels Nursery! ๐๐
Through hands-on learning, they are developing new vocabulary, building critical thinking skills, using magnifying glasses and tweezers to carefully observe and catch insects! ๐
For Earth Day, the children at Parkview and Melton Road were busy learning about our amazing planet last week ๐
They created wonderful art and crafts using paper, paint, and natural materials and learnt about how to care for our Earth through recycling activities and cleaning the sea. In the Bay Room, they used play dough to recreate the moonโs surface and the Earthโs surface with different textures.
The children in foundation room took part in doing an experiment where they used bicarbonate soda, food colour and white vinegar. They poured in the food colour and white vinegar into a cup using their gross motor skills.
They were able to recognise the colour saying green and blue. One child recognised that the blue bit in the earth is the sea and one child said the green is the trees and land.
They all listened well to clear instructions and followed them well too. Using their fine motor skills they used the pipettes to squeeze in the dyed vinegar to then squeeze it out onto the bicarbonate soda to see a reaction.
When it fizzed, the children showed enthusiasm and excitement on their face. The children used good language whilst learning to take turns and share together โบ๏ธ
The children have been celebrating the Sikh festival of Vaisakhi..
At our Melton Road nursery they dressed in traditional clothing and played music with drums, creating a lively and joyful atmosphere ๐
The festivities have also included dancing and sharing stories about the significance of Vaisakhi, allowing everyone to appreciate the rich cultural heritage.
