The Year 8 Leadership School Action Group made their final visit to Charnwood Care Home last Monday, completing their community project for the year. Our pupils thoroughly enjoyed spending time with the residents and have built some truly special connections. They’re already looking forward to seeing everyone again in the new school year.

Transition Days at Heath Lane 🌟
It was fantastic welcoming our future pupils to Heath Lane Academy for their transition days! They’ve loved experiencing lessons, meeting their new teachers, and learning all about school routines. Everyone settled in beautifully, and we can’t wait to see them again in August as they officially join our school community. 💙

Our Year 7, 8, 9 and 10 pupils enjoyed one of the fantastic end‑of‑year summer trip to the Meridian for bowling and the cinema. They loved competing against their friends on the lanes and settling in to watch Toy Story 5. A brilliant day out and a great way to celebrate the end of term—well done to everyone for making it such a memorable trip!

We are delighted to announce that all Year 9 students have successfully completed the British Red Cross First Aid Course.
Through this valuable programme, students have acquired essential life-saving skills, including emergency response, CPR, and basic first aid. These competencies not only equip them to act confidently in critical situations but also foster responsibility, resilience, and care for others within the community.
We commend our students for their dedication, maturity, and excellent engagement throughout the course. This is a significant achievement of which they should be very proud.

Recently, Miss Faulks’ Year 9 History class has been studying the Holocaust. As part of their learning, students worked collaboratively to build a timeline of persecution, approaching this challenging topic with respect, integrity and compassion.
Learning about the Holocaust is not only an important part of history education but also helps build character, encouraging empathy, resilience and a commitment to standing up against prejudice. By remembering the past, we help shape a more compassionate future.
Well done 9L!

🎢 🧗Activity Days Tuesday 7th and Wednesday 8th July 🎥🎳
Information about what time your child should arrive at school and arrive back to will depend on the activity they have booked and will have communicated via arbour.
Students can wear non-uniform on both of these days in or out of school but will
need to be practical for hands on activities and we suggest comfortable footwear. we suggest leaving expensive devices and jewellery at home.
We are looking forward to a fun packed two days in and out of school! 🎢🎳
