Little Ferns Childcare

All the children at The Little Gingerbread House Pre-school and Little Ferns Childcare had such a great day yesterday at the Snowdome for our end of year treat. Thank you to all the parents for taking the time to join us and of course to all the little ones who were absolutely amazing, we are so proud of you all, you guys are awesome!

The chicks now have feathers appearing. They are getting bigger and louder!

Mrs blue t**s egg total came to 6 eggs. We have been watching over this past week and 4 eggs have successfully hatched and we now have 4 chicks in the nest.
The unhatched eggs are still in the nest currently so the children are intrigued as to what will happen to them? Some of the questions asked were, Will they hatch still? Will they crack? Will Mrs Blue Tit throw them out? Will she eat them for breakfast?

So today I checked on Mrs blue tit and discovered that there are now three hatched eggs!!!

We are lucky that we have been given this tarantulas molt for the children to look at. Some children liked to look from afar and others were brave enough to hold it in its container 🕷️🕸️

A day of exploring, imagination, friendship and sharing. The children recreated their own nests today by finding holes that they could fit in. They developed their physical skills by balancing on logs and climbing trees. They developed their hand control and coordination by building towers with sticks. A fun filled day as always.

A lovely walk, a play on the park followed by a picnic.
The children enjoyed navigating and showing me the way by following the signs. On the park they worked on their balance and coordination.
We talked about coal mining and how the mines were used and the children talked about how their parents use coal to cook food on the BBQ.

Bosworth Battlefield. The children enjoyed learning some new facts, exploring, making swords and building friendships. ⚔️.

So we have a total of 5 eggs so far in the Little Ferns bird box🥚🥚🥚🥚🥚 Mrs Blue Tit has been busy!

We have been watching our bird box here at Little ferns as we have a little blue tit that has made it home.
It has been building its nest and the children have loved watching the process. Today is egg-citing (sorry, couldn't help myself) as we have a new development in the nest!!!
