๐Ÿ“ˆ SUBJECT FOCUS OF THE WEEK- BUSINESS STUDIES ๐Ÿ“ˆ
Recently in GCSE Business, students have been looking at the benefits and drawbacks of different ways of working. They have also been learning about what good and poor communication looks like in business, and real-life examples of the impact this has on an organisation.

They have also been learning about different types of Organisational Structure in the workplace, and why these differ depending on the context of a Business.

Our year 8 students enjoyed a fantastic educational visit to Leicester Botanic Gardens today, where they explored a range of ecological and environmental science activities.
The day began with an engaging briefing from the Botanic Gardens staff, introducing students to different global climates, including warm temperate, tropical and Arctic-alpine environments, and examining the adaptations plants and animals need to survive in these conditions.
Students then worked in small groups to take part in six hands-on ecological investigations around the site. Activities included analysing soil samples, field sketching, woodland sampling using quadrats, microscope work, and pond dipping, giving students valuable practical experience in ecological fieldwork.
To round off the visit, students attended a short talk about career opportunities available through the University of Leicester, providing an insight into future pathways in science and higher education.
We were delighted to hear the staff at the Botanic Gardens praise the excellent behaviour, enthusiasm and engagement of our students throughout the day. Well done to everyone involved!

Remarkable Day at the Holocaust Exhibition Centre today! ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ
Today, 47 of our incredible Year 9 students visited the Holocaust Museum. We could not be prouder of their conductโ€”they showed absolute maturity and respect throughout the entire visit.
During the day, students deeply engaged with the history of the Holocaust and antisemitism, and they were privileged to hear a powerful first-hand account from a Holocaust survivor. It was truly a mind-blowing, unforgettable opportunity for everyone involved.

This impactful trip directly supports our curriculum and community values:
โ€ข RE: Unit 2 (Human Rights)
โ€ข PSHE: Unit 2 (Living in the Wider World)
โ€ข British Values: Mutual Respect and Tolerance
Thank you to our students for representing our school so brilliantly! ๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŒŸ
