Founded in 2011 by tabla musician, Rishii Chowdhury 'YoTabla' is a holistic way of learning to play this beautiful instrument. 'YO' meaning 'Yoga' ensures that students' are physically, relaxed and prepared to play. There are weekly classes and additional practice sessions and retreats that are organised. A significant moment for YoTabla. They accompanied kathak dance in the Antara student's showcase at Attenborough Arts Centre, Leicester over the weekend. This was a unique collaboration between Rishii Chowdhury and Aarti Lodhia. There is a special charm when there is live music with dance. Special thanks to Samyami Chowdhury Sarma for providing tremendous vocal and harmonium support.

YoTabla loves to get out into the community. Yesterday Rishii was running a FREE session at the University of Leicester Freshers fair as part of Attenborough Arts Centre 'Give it a Go' initiative. It was wonderful to see a variety of participants engage in tabla.

Well done YoTabla for an energetic performance this evening for Leicester's first ever outdoor cinema event. Thank you Inspirate and An Indian Summer for inviting the group.It was a wonderful atmosphere at Jubilee Square.
Happy Guru Purnima (a day to express reverence to our teachers). The pursuit of knowledge never stops and with the guidance of a Guru/teacher/mentor we remain on the right path.
After a fulfilling and inspiring trip to San Francisco to have classes with Guru, Ustad Zakir Hussain, I can't wait to start teaching again. It was very heartfelt to hear that YoTabla has many well wishers across the pond.
