Christmas Jumper Day Reminder: No Coats in Car Seats!
This Christmas Jumper Day, let’s spread the festive cheer—but remember: when it comes to car seat safety, coats and bulky winter clothes don’t belong! ❄️🧣
Why? When your child wears a thick coat or jacket in their car seat, the straps can’t fit snugly against their body, which reduces the effectiveness of the harness in a crash.
What to do instead?
Dress your child in thin layers (think thermal shirts, leggings, and snug sweaters) that will keep them warm without interfering with the car seat straps.
After buckling them in, place their coat or blanket over them like a cover—this way, they stay warm and safe.
So, while we’re all about the holiday spirit and rocking our Christmas jumpers today, let’s keep safety top of mind too! 🎁✨
