We are excited to announce that we will be hosting a Colour Run on Tuesday 30th June 2026, at 3.30pm in memory and celebration of our wonderful Maya who sadly passed away on the 14th May this year. We will be raising money for Rainbows Hospice and other DIPG charities such as Abbie’s Armies. Please look out for a letter confirming details this week 😀

An enormous well done to all of drummers from years 1-6 who performed to their parents and grandparents this morning. You were FABULOUS!

As part of our topic in Maths on shape, the Year 5’s used the opportunity (in between rain showers) this week to explore 2D and 3D shapes in our playground. This allowed them to strengthen their knowledge of the characteristics of different types of shapes.

Year 5 have enjoyed studying maps in Geography and the use of contour lines. To help them understand how contour lines show the height and shape of the land, the children used potatoes as a practical model!

This week a group of Year 3 children have had the opportunity to experience a new sport. The children attended an event held at Beedles Lake Golf Club practicing their putting, chipping and accuracy skills.🏌️‍♂️

Also, a special shout out to our Year 5/6 cricket team who are through to the county finals, which is held at Leicestershire County Ground. 🏏

Sports betting has become increasingly visible online, appearing across apps, websites, social media, sports coverage and gaming spaces.

Even when young people are not legally old enough to gamble, they may still encounter betting messages through adverts, influencers, tipsters, friends or adult accounts.

Our latest guide highlights key risks, including:
• Easy online access
• Gambling becoming normalised around sport
• Peer and influencer pressure
• Free bet offers
• Impulsive spending and chasing losses

It also offers practical advice for parents, carers and educators on starting calm conversations, setting safer digital boundaries, spotting warning signs and finding support.

48 of our KS2 children visited DeMontfort Hall this morning to see The Royal Birmingham Conservatoire LEAP Orchestra perform. We had a fantastic time listening to a range of music from Mozart to Dua Lipa!

Year 2 are learning to tell the time. We have looked at o’clock, half past, quarter past and quarter to. We are now telling the time in 5 minutes intervals. This is a tricky skill so please keep practicing at home.

Year 2 have been busy working on a new display to commemorate David Attenborough’s 100th birthday. They have been able to apply all of the techniques they learnt in their lessons last term. We are looking forward to seeing the finished results.
