The world around us is a curious place to be 🌍

The garden provides endless opportunities for learning, exploration, and discovery. It’s a wonderful place for children to learn about the world around them and the many creatures we share it with.

Today, we discovered a wonderful wiggly worm! 🪱 This tiny visitor sparked lots of curiosity and gave us the opportunity to expand our language and communication skills.

Through our discussions, we explored mathematical concepts such as length and size, asked thoughtful questions about what worms eat and where they live, and developed our understanding of the natural world.

Most importantly, we demonstrated kindness and care by handling our new friend gently and ensuring it was safely returned to its habitat.

Problem-solving the curious way 💭

This inquisitive little learner has been demonstrating fantastic curiosity and problem-solving skills! When he noticed that his train bridge needed extra support, he carefully assessed the challenge and put his thinking skills to work.

Exploring different materials and testing his ideas, he thoughtfully selected bricks to create a strong foundation. One brick at a time, he successfully built the perfect support for his bridge.

What a wonderful example of perseverance, critical thinking, and learning through play! 🚂✨

👀 Can You See the World Through My Eyes? 👀

Observing and discovering the world around us can look different for every child. Through their eyes, even the simplest things can become exciting opportunities for learning, exploration and wonder. ✨

It is a privilege to watch children learn and grow with each passing moment, using their curious minds to investigate, question and discover. 🌿 From noticing the smallest details to exploring something completely new, every experience helps them build their understanding of the world around them.

Following the Curiosity Approach, we encourage children to take the lead in their learning, giving them the freedom to explore, wonder and make their own discoveries. 💭🔍

✋ Fine Motor Development ✋

Pre-School children have been continuing their journey towards school readiness this week, demonstrating fantastic confidence, concentration and perseverance as they developed their fine motor skills. 🌟

Using the smaller muscles in their hands, alongside excellent hand-eye coordination 👀, the children carefully threaded pasta onto string. 🧵 Activities such as these help to strengthen the muscles needed for future early writing experiences ✏️, as well as supporting independence with everyday tasks.

Following the Curiosity Approach 🌿, we provide opportunities for children to explore, investigate and learn through hands-on experiences. The children were able to approach the activity at their own pace, developing problem-solving skills, resilience and a sense of achievement as they discovered different ways to succeed.

It has been wonderful to watch their focus and determination as they challenged themselves, preparing for the exciting next steps in their learning journey. 🎓✨

Today our little learners enjoyed a colourful tea party-themed invitation to play! ☕🌈

Using plates, saucers and shaving foam, the children explored a wonderful world of colour mixing and sensory discovery. They delighted in adding different colours together, watching with excitement as new colours appeared and changed before their eyes.

The tea party setup inspired lots of imaginative play and conversation, discussing the different colours they could see. As they mixed, swirled and experimented, they were developing their understanding of colour, building language skills and learning through their own hands-on discoveries.

We were able to make it’s of predictions about what colours they might create and enjoy the hands on sensory experience as we went along our learning experience!

🎶 Music in the Making 🎶

Our Toddlers have been exploring the wonderful world of music this week, expressing themselves through sound, rhythm, and creativity!

Following their interest in making music, the children transformed recycled boxes into their very own drums and discovered a variety of objects that could be used as drumsticks. 🥁

As they experimented with different sounds, beats, and rhythms, they developed their listening skills, coordination, and confidence, all while having lots of fun creating music together.

Through open-ended exploration and imaginative thinking, the children filled our nursery with wonderful sounds, proving that music can be found in the most unexpected places! ✨🎵

🍓 Home-Grown Strawberries! 🍓

Our Pre-School children have been busy helping to grow their very own fruits and vegetables, and they have loved watching them flourish!
This week, we were excited to discover that our strawberries were ready to be picked. The children noticed their bright red colour and knew it was time to harvest our delicious home-grown treats.

After giving them a good wash, everyone enjoyed tasting the strawberries and talking about their texture, smell, and flavour. We agreed that they were wonderfully soft, sweet, and absolutely delicious! 🍓✨

What a fantastic way to learn about where our food comes from while developing our observation and sensory skills!

Our curiosity-filled toddlers have been on an exciting dinosaur expedition, searching high and low for the dinosaurs hidden throughout our rooms!

With magnifying glasses in hand and imaginations running wild, the children have been exploring, investigating, and discovering as they journey back to a time when dinosaurs roamed the Earth.

What a wonderful adventure full of curiosity, learning, and fun! 🦕✨
