Sometimes the smallest gestures can make the biggest difference…

Today, one of our toddlers spotted that a friend needed a little extra support while balancing along the edge of our construction area. Without being asked, they reached out their hand to help them across!

These moments are so special to witness. Through everyday play, the children are learning to look out for one another, build friendships and show kindness in such natural ways.
We're so proud of the caring relationships that are growing every day. 💛

🚜 Little Builders at Work! 🚜
Our babies have been enjoying exploring our construction books alongside our toy vehicles today.

As we looked through the story together, the children excitedly pointed out the dump truck in the book before finding the matching truck to explore for themselves. They loved comparing the pictures with the real toy, talking about what the truck might be doing and how it helps on a building site!

Simple moments like these help to build language, encourage curiosity and develop those all-important observation skills, all through play. 💛📚

Solar Eclipse 🌒

Today in Pre-School, we have been learning all about something very exciting happening later today — a solar eclipse! 🌞🌑

The children have been exploring this amazing natural phenomenon in a fun and hands-on way. Using coloured playdough, we created our own sun and moon, carefully adding pegs to represent the sun’s rays. We then used our pink playdough to demonstrate the moon moving across and covering the bright sun! 🌞🌑

It has been a lovely opportunity for the children to explore, ask questions and learn more about what happens during a solar eclipse.

We can’t wait to find out more and see what else we can discover! 🤩✨

A fun filled fidget board 🙌
A fidget board is always a fan favourite for our developing babies!

With lots of switches to flick, locks to open, handles to turn and latches to explore, there's so much to keep little hands busy! Activities like these help to develop fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and problem-solving, all while encouraging curiosity and independent exploration 💛

Exploring nature, creating art and learning through play 🌿🎨

Using evergreen branches as paintbrushes, the children discovered new textures, colours and patterns while enjoying a fun sensory experience 💚

🌺 Homemade Perfume 🌿

This morning, the children had lots of fun creating their very own homemade perfumes by mixing together all of their favourite natural scents 🌸✨

Using berries, herbs and flowers from around our outdoor area, they enjoyed crushing, mixing, pouring and shaking their special ingredients to create the best-smelling perfume they could! 🍓🌿💐

It was a wonderful sensory activity that encouraged exploration, creativity and plenty of imaginative play… Who knew nature could smell so good? 😊🌼

A colourful start to the week! 🧡

We love to allow the children to explore and learn following their own thoughts and interests, and sometimes this leads to wonderfully messy moments like this! 🎨

Messy play encourages creativity, builds confidence, develops fine motor skills and gives children the freedom to experiment, explore and express themselves without worrying about getting a little dirty!

🫐 Berry Picking! 🫐

We are so lucky to have a beautiful blackberry bush growing beside our outdoor area, and the children have loved watching it blossom throughout the spring and summer ☀️

After lots of patient waiting, some of the berries were finally ripe and ready to pick! 🧺 With baskets in hand and lots of excitement, the children carefully picked some of the juiciest-looking blackberries before washing them, ready to taste! 💜

Now for the important question... I wonder if they'll be sweet? 😋🍇

Exploring, pouring and discovering! 💕

Today our little learners enjoyed some sensory water play using jugs, saucepans and natural materials 🍃

As they poured, scooped and experimented, they were developing their hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills and early problem-solving, all while having lots of fun together! ❤️
