Dear all,

The UN Society committee elections are upon us and those of you which have participated in our Forums and debating competition may wish to use your experience and run for the position of LUDA Coordinator next year. All you have to do is write a manifesto explaining why you would be suited to the position and talk a little bit about yourself at the AGM on Wednesday, the 28th of March. The deadline for manifestos is Tuesday, the 27th.

As LUDA Coordinator, you will be in charge of overseeing all Leicester University Debating Alliance (LUDA) events with other societies, hosting the LUUNS LUDA Forum, and running the Annual LUDA Competition in partnership with our LUDA co-founder, The Law Society.

Don't hesitate to contact me if you need further details. Either email me at [email protected] or leave a message on this page.

Good luck!!

LUDA semi-finals motion:

"This House believes that society benefits when we share personal information online."

The debate is intended to mainly centre around social media websites like Facebook, but can also touch upon other areas where individuals are encouraged to share personal information online. You may want to think about whether Mr Zuckerberg is right in claiming Facebook is as significant for the openness it encourages as the wealth it creates? Or do these type of enterprises encourage users to publish unhealthy amounts of personal data in a way that does little to enrich our lives?
