Καλή σχολική χρονιά από το Leicester Greek School!

Με χαμόγελα, παιχνίδι και πολλή δημιουργικότητα ξεκίνησε η νέα μας σχολική χρονιά!

Οι τάξεις μας γέμισαν ξανά με παιδιά, ελληνικές λέξεις, όμορφες δραστηριότητες και χαρούμενες στιγμές. Γνωριστήκαμε, παίξαμε, δημιουργήσαμε και κάναμε τα πρώτα μας βήματα για μια ακόμη όμορφη χρονιά μαζί.

Ευχόμαστε σε όλα τα παιδιά, τις οικογένειες και τους εκπαιδευτικούς μας μια χαρούμενη και δημιουργική σχολική χρονιά 2026–2027!

🇨🇾 Leicester, save the weekend: 26 & 27 September! 🎬🎭

The Leicester Edition of the UK Cyprus Film Festival is not only about watching a Cypriot film. It is about bringing culture into the heart of the community.

On Saturday, we join the children of the Leicester Greek School for creative theatre workshops inspired by Cypriot painter George Pol. Georghiou.

On Sunday, children, parents, grandparents and friends can come together after the Divine Liturgy for SKAMMATA (Excavations), directed by Danae Stylianou and produced by the Department of Antiquities of Cyprus.

All coming together over one weekend in Leicester.

We are especially happy to begin this new collaboration with the school and the local community and to continue taking the UK Cyprus Film Festival beyond London, meeting our diaspora where they live, learn and gather.

Το καλοκαίρι σιγά σιγά φτάνει στο τέλος του και μια νέα, όμορφη σχολική χρονιά είναι έτοιμη να ξεκινήσει! Με χαρά ετοιμαζόμαστε να ανοίξουμε ξανά τις πόρτες του Leicester Greek School το Σάββατο 5 Σεπτεμβρίου 2026 και να υποδεχτούμε τους μαθητές μας για ακόμη μία χρονιά γεμάτη ελληνικά, μάθηση, δημιουργία και όμορφες στιγμές.

Η νέα μας αρχή γίνεται ακόμη πιο ξεχωριστή καθώς συγχαίρουμε τους μαθητές μας για τις εξαιρετικές επιδόσεις τους στις εξετάσεις GCSE. Η σκληρή δουλειά, η επιμονή και η αφοσίωσή τους ανταμείφθηκαν και μας κάνουν όλους πραγματικά περήφανους. Θερμά συγχαρητήρια σε όλα τα παιδιά μας! Ανυπομονούμε να σας ξαναδούμε και να ξεκινήσουμε όλοι μαζί μια υπέροχη νέα σχολική χρονιά!

🇨🇾💙 A weekend with the Cypriot community of Leicester!

One of the things we love most about the UK Cyprus Film Festival is the opportunity to take Cypriot culture directly into communities across Britain.

Our Leicester Edition, on 26 & 27 September, will be exactly that.

On Saturday, we meet the students of the Leicester Greek School for two creative theatre workshops inspired by the life and work of George Pol. Georghiou 🎨🎭

On Sunday, the generations come together as we invite parents, grandparents, friends and members of the wider community to a screening of SKAMMATA (Excavations) 🎬

Directed by Danae Stylianou and produced by the Τμήμα Αρχαιοτήτων Κύπρου/ Department of Antiquities Cyprus, the documentary takes us into the world of Cypriot archaeology and our continuing relationship with the island's past.

This is what our journey across the UK is about. Creating spaces where our children can discover, our communities can gather and Cyprus can be experienced through its artists, stories and cultural heritage.

We are very much looking forward to our first Leicester weekend! 🇨🇾✨

Δύο όμορφες δράσεις για την κοινότητά μας!

1. «Καποδίστριας – The Governor»

Η Κοινότητα τουLeicester εξασφάλισε ειδική προβολή της νέας ιστορικής ταινίας «Καποδίστριας – The Governor», σε σκηνοθεσία Γιάννη Σμαραγδή. Μια μοναδική ευκαιρία για μικρούς και μεγάλους να γνωρίσουν καλύτερα τη ζωή και το έργο του Ιωάννη Καποδίστρια, μιας από τις σημαντικότερες προσωπικότητες της νεότερης ελληνικής ιστορίας. https://www.odeon.co.uk/films/kapodistrias-the-governor/HO00008883/.

2.Καλοκαιρινό BBQ – Κυριακή 7 Ιουνίου

Θα θέλαμε επίσης να μοιραστούμε μαζί σας ότι η εκκλησία μας, ο Ιερός Ναός Αγίου Νικολάου και Αγίου Ξενοφώντος, διοργανώνει Καλοκαιρινό BBQ μετά το τέλος της Θείας Λειτουργίας. Ιδιαίτερη νότα στην εκδήλωση θα δώσει Leicester Greek Dancing Group, το οποίο θα παρουσιάσει παραδοσιακούς ελληνικούς χορούς.
