Congratulations to our brilliant Year 7 and Year 8 students who participated in a sponsored reading event for the ‘Read for Good’ charity, which is the UK’s National reading charity, raising funds to provide books and storytellers for seriously ill children in hospital. Our students raised over £200 from the Readathon event, with a special thank you given to Emily of Year 7 for her fantastic individual fundraising efforts!
The event was a great success, promoting the importance of literacy and reading for pleasure, as well as raising awareness of this important charity.

Rotary Young Writer Competition 📝 ✨
The English Department at LHS are thrilled to announce our creative writing success in the Rotary Young Writer Competition for 2025-6. We entered a range of fantastic poems and stories on the theme of ‘Happiness in Nature’, with students achieving several certificates and prizes. A special mention goes to Simran of Year 8, winner of the Intermediate category at club and district level, and Zahra of Year 11 who won the Senior category at club and district level. We are particularly proud to share that Alisha of Year 6 won the Junior category at National level, which is an incredible achievement. Our success in this competition is testament to the creativity and talent of our students and their love of English literature.

Brighton Year 12 Residential ☀️🍕
Perfect get away before the end of term to celebrate a year of hard work.
Year 12 have been an exceptional part of our community, not only conforming to their student role, but going above and beyond to unite our community, through events and workshops with the younger girls. They are wonderful role models to all girls, and they represent the school values effortlessly -
Every girl is known, valued, and inspired to be her best.
Confident Girls. Strong Values. Bright Futures.
Of course, thank you to the Head of Sixth Form MrRyman, for organising this amazing trip.
