At Montrose School, we place a high value on music as a vital part of our broad and balanced curriculum, providing rich and dynamic learning opportunities for every child. Performances like these are a wonderful way for our students to showcase their talents while helping them succeed to their fullest potential. A huge thank you to Miss Rupp and her team for their tireless hard work and preparation— the concerts were a resounding success and provided a truly valuable experience for our children. 👏

Yesterday, year 1, 2 and 3 were lucky enough to have a special assembly from author of "Chicken vs Egg", Gareth P Jones! 🐔🥚

He told us all about his book, his job and make up some very funny songs for us to join in with. 🎶

Year 3 then had chance to join in their own story-writing masterclass with Gareth where they came up with their very own story/song called "Pizza Pirates"!! 🍕

We've deployed some mammal boxes in the ravine to help us survey the mammals that might be living there as part of our The National Lottery Heritage Fund project. A huge thanks to players!

Our Year 2’s were asked by Leicester City Council if they would help launch the city's National Year of Reading with a bang! We were delighted to be joined by the Assistant City Mayor for children and young people, Leicester Library Services and, of course, FILBERT THE FOX! 🦊🔵

Our special guests were incredible impressed with the children's behaviour and, most of all, their enthusiasm for reading!! Year 2 are currently taking part in a project called "Our Best Picture Book" and also enjoyed a trip to the library this week. 📚

At Montrose School, we know that children who read for pleasure are far more academically successful in life than those that don't, so we are aiming during this National Year of Reading to help make EVERY CHILD A READER! 👍
