Promoting awe and wonder in early childhood ♥️

18/06/2026

Our toddlers have showed such lovely examples of friendship and care as they shared warm hugs with each other. 🤗💕

It was heartwarming to see the children offering comfort, kindness, and affection, demonstrating the strong bonds they are building within their peer group. These simple moments help children feel safe, valued, and connected to those around them.

Supporting friendships in the early years helps develop emotional wellbeing, empathy, and positive social skills that will last a lifetime. 🌟

🌈✨ Stepping Stone Fun! ✨🌈

Our toddlers had so much fun exploring the stepping stones today! 🐾💚 They carefully balanced from one stone to the next, developing their gross motor skills, coordination, and balance. Some children confidently jumped between the stones 🤸‍♀️, while others chose to step back onto the floor before moving on. 👣

It was lovely to see the children working together, supporting their friends, and enjoying the challenge with smiles and laughter. 😊🌟 Their curiosity and determination shone through as they explored different ways to move across the stones!

🌳 Rolling into Curiosity! 🌳

Our curious toddlers had a blast with loose parts play using log rolls today! 🪵✨
They started by rolling the logs across the floor and then enjoyed rolling them to each other. 🤝

When asked how else they could move their log rolls, one clever little explorer decided to twist it so it was spinning! 🌀💡
It was wonderful to see the children experimenting, sharing ideas, and using their imagination and problem-solving skills while having so much fun. 😊💖

🎨🖌️ Toddlers’ Big Floor Painting Fun! 👣✨

Today our toddlers enjoyed painting on a large scale on the floor! We rolled out some paper, added paint, and gave the children cardboard rolls to make their marks. Some children also used their hands and other objects they could find to create patterns and textures 🖐️🎨. It was lovely to see them using their imaginations, thinking creatively, and developing their gross motor skills at the same time 🌟💛

Messy play pancakes 🥞

Our keen explorer had a wonderful time in the mud kitchen today, getting hands-on with some messy play! 🥞🌿

Using mud and water, they carefully mixed, stirred, and squished the ingredients together to create their very own muddy pancakes. Through this imaginative play, they explored different textures, developed their fine motor skills, and practised problem-solving as they decided how much water to add to their mixture.

Messy play like this encourages creativity, curiosity, and confidence while providing endless opportunities for learning through play. We loved seeing their concentration and enthusiasm as they cooked up their muddy masterpiece! 💚

🌟 New Sandpit Adventure! 🌟

The children were very excited to discover that fresh sand had been delivered for our sandpit today! 🏖️✨ They eagerly helped staff transport the sand using wheelbarrows 🚜 before working together to spread it evenly around the sandpit using rakes and their hands 👐.

This hands-on experience encouraged excellent teamwork 🤝, developed gross motor skills 💪, promoted critical thinking 🧠, and supported language development through discussions and collaborative play 🗣️. 🌟🧱 Tubes, Blocks & Big Learning Fun! 🎉✨

During play, this curious toddler explored a tube of card by carefully placing small blocks inside and lining them up side by side. 🧱🔄 She showed great concentration and problem-solving as she experimented with how the blocks fitted and balanced.

Once she had filled the tube, she proudly counted them one by one before tipping them out with delight, laughing and saying “wheeeeeee!” 😄🎊 It was lovely to see her combining early maths skills with joyful, sensory play and lots of excitement! 🔢💛
