We are proud to say that all of our team are Makaton trained, and we will soon be undertaking British Sign Language (BSL) training as well.

Communication is at the heart of everything we do. While Makaton and BSL can be life-changing tools for children and adults who rely on them throughout their lives, they also offer enormous benefits for all young children.

For pre-verbal children, signing can reduce frustration and help them express their wants, needs and feelings before spoken language develops. For verbal children, it can reinforce understanding, support language development and build confidence in communication.

By using signs alongside speech, we create a more inclusive environment where every child has a voice and every child can be understood.

We believe communication should never be a barrier. Whether a child uses signing for a few months, a few years or throughout their lifetime, our aim is the same: to provide a nurturing environment where everyone can communicate, participate and belong.

The signs shown below are just a few examples of the communication methods we use every day to support children's learning, wellbeing and independence.

Today we celebrated Sir David Attenborough' s 100th birthday!
We had a sealife discovery tray, went on a widlife walk.
We also watched a David Attenborough documentary and then we looked at the the 100 square mat and found the grown ups ages!
