Xylem Press is launching an inaugural collection of new written works under the theme of
“Tech Punk”
Tech Punk looks at a sustainable future beyond the limits of current technology and how we can use our tools today to rethink the new normal that awaits.
Texts in any form accepted. Themes include (but are not limited to)
- sound and technology futures
- future art worlds
- performance spaces of the future
- Accelerationism, time and space
- New software/hardware tools for better worlds
- Inclusive artificial and immersive technologies
- ...and more
Deadline for submission: October 30 2020
Publication: January 31 2021
This collection will be in both digital and physical formats. Texts can include visual media, poetry, essay long form etc. No limits.

Just a reminder that the Art and Sound symposium is taking place between 23-24 June. Final day for registration is Monday. No on the day registration possible. We've got a couple of fantastic keynotes: Jules Rawlinson and Sarah Kettley, a concert on the Saturday evening, workshops and installations.

Between Friday 23rd and Saturday 24th of June, the Music, Technology & Innovation Research Centre will play host to Art & Sound – a symposium funded by De Montfort University.
Taking place at the Queens Building and the Performing Arts Centre of Excellent (PACE), A&S seeks to bring about discussion across the arts centred around a particular theme. With this second iteration of the symposium, the focus has been placed upon ‘Craft' and the many forms that this can take in the development of a creative work.
