The children explored ways to keep their teeth healthy. They used a toothbrush and model teeth to practise brushing movements and discussed how teeth can be cleaned. The children also sorted different foods into healthy and unhealthy groups, identifying fruits and vegetables as good choices for teeth and sugary foods as foods that should be eaten less often. They engaged in conversation and showed interest in learning about dental hygiene. 😁

🌍 Earth Day 22.4.2026
This whole week is Exploring Our Colourful World Outdoors 🌈🌸☀️🪻🍄
The children will be celebrating Earth Day all this week through hands-on, creative outdoor play. Today they’re using a mix of paints, tools, and their imaginations, they explored colours and created vibrant “rainbow” artwork, and expressed themselves freely in the natural environment. 🌳

At Tracy Cooper Childminding, one of our core values is ensuring that every child is ready for school.
We believe that “school readiness” goes far beyond academic milestones such as learning the alphabet, counting, or early reading. Instead, our focus is on supporting children to develop the practical life skills and independence they need to thrive in a school environment.
Our aim is for each child to:
* Use the toilet independently and maintain good hand hygiene
* Put on their own shoes (with Velcro fastenings where appropriate)
* Dress themselves, including putting on and, where possible, fastening their coat
* Manage personal care tasks such as wiping and blowing their nose
* Use cutlery confidently during mealtimes
* Show respect for others and demonstrate good manners
By nurturing these essential skills, we help children build confidence, independence, and the social awareness needed for a positive start to school life.

Don’t Miss Out ⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️

Following updated guidance from Ofsted, we are no longer able to allow babies to sleep in a flat pram or pushchair while in our care.
To help make the transition into our setting as smooth and comforting as possible, we kindly ask that all new and prospective families support their child in becoming familiar with sleeping in a cot, travel cot, or carry cot. This can really help children feel more settled and secure during rest times with us going forward.
We completely understand that many babies thrive when sleeping outdoors, and this is something we have seen work wonderfully for many children and they thrive from this over the years. While we are now guided by updated requirements, we remain fully committed to creating a calm, safe, and nurturing sleep environment for every child ❤️
Here at Tracy Cooper Childminding we are very fortunate to have three dedicated sleep rooms within our setting, each with its own cot. These spaces are closely monitored, with regular temperature checks in place, alongside frequent in-person checks carried out by two members of staff, ensuring every child is safe, comfortable, and well cared for while they rest.
