I’m a little teapot… in the sand! ☕️🏖️
How wonderful are these miniature teapots, lovingly sourced from a local charity shop!🥰 They’ve been the perfect little tools for our children to scoop, pour and tip the sand, while also carefully matching and placing the lids on top! We love finding ways to give everyday and pre loved items a new purpose in our nursery!

Knighton Summer Artists… 🎨🖌️ What a delight to explore paint amongst the blooming sunflowers. We are ever so lucky here at Knighton to have a huge garden where we can be creative.. 🎨 Placing paint pallets, nature and using recycled kitchen worktops the children can explore paint, printing and mark making on different surfaces at different levels!

Large scale sand play 🤎⏳

Over the past few weeks, we’ve noticed a growing fascination with sand. The children have loved exploring how it feels, how it pours, moves, and changes with every touch

To support this curiosity, we took the sand out of the tray and onto the floor, creating a large scale sensory invitation that encouraged whole body exploration. With wooden spoons, teacups, and a selection of natural materials, the children immersed themselves in rich, open ended play. They sprinkled sand over their toes, created mountains, threaded natural treasures into the sand, and explored at their own pace.

As we head through the summer, we’d love to see how the children have been exploring sand at home too! Whether it’s in the garden, at the park, or on the beach during a holiday, please share your photos and experiences with us on our parent app⏳🏖️
