Transforming materials in the rain..๐Ÿ”จโ˜”๏ธ You may look at this tray of materials and wonder what may the children learn and explore from this tray? Well the pictures speak for themselves, using tools to crumble and chip the chalk and clay, using brushes to mix water with these materials to transform, using their hands to delicately pick and sprinkle the petals aswell as using resources of different weight to crumble and mix! An open ended tray with endless possibilities!

โ˜”๏ธ Rainy Day Painting ๐ŸŽจ
Today we continued painting using rollers and colourful paints. The children enjoyed discovering how rollers spread colour across different surfaces, experimenting with different movements, patterns, and textures.

With the rainy weather inspiring our play, we introduced clear umbrellas for the children to paint both inside and on top of, creating beautiful strokes of colour and lots of excitement as they watched the colours appear through the transparent surface and the raindrops changing the texture of the paint๐ŸŒˆโœจ

Tape!!
This interest began while exploring fabrics, as we observed the children folding materials and carefully hiding bricks inside. Soon, the children began asking for the fabric โ€œto stickโ€so we introduced a few rolls of tape to extend their curiosity.
Since then, we have watched the children deeply explore the concept of tape, discovering how it sticks, how materials attach together, how it wraps, and how it can be manipulated in different ways. With the introduction of scissors, the children have also been independently experimenting with snipping the tape to the exact lengths they need โœ‚๏ธ A month or so later the attachment and weaving element continues as Kay provides us with a lampshade and our weaving tree.
Such a simple resource has opened up rich opportunities for problem solving, fine motor development, creativity, and critical thinking through child led exploration โœจ๐Ÿ’ซ

The pre-school children enjoy searching for bugs around the garden to place inside their new hotel, this lead us on to looking at life cycles and creating representations๐Ÿž๐Ÿ›๐Ÿชฒ

Starting our week with a splash of colour! ๐ŸŒˆ๐ŸŽจโ€จThis morning, the children explored their creativity using a variety of painting tools. From reaching up high to stretching across the white board, they enjoyed experimenting with different movements and techniques while having lots of fun together. It was wonderful to see how they expressed themselves through art and colour. โœจ๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธ

This past bank holiday, some of our families had the chance to explore some exciting places! One family went to visit a safari park and one even went to the beautiful beach in Norfolk and managed to see the seals. To keep the excitement going, weโ€™ve created special invitations for the children. They can use these to share their fantastic adventures and tell their friends all about the fun they had!

๐ŸŒผโœจ A morning full of busy little hands and big imaginations! โœจ๐ŸŒผ
The children have been completely immersed in two wonderful sensory experiences today. They loved exploring playdough with dried herbs and flowers, squishing, squeezing, rolling, and moulding the dough as they discovered different textures and scents. ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒธ
Meanwhile, another group were busy creating foamy tea recipes! ๐Ÿซ–๐Ÿ’ซ They whisked and mixed their magical concoctions, watching with excitement as the foam changed and transformed with the addition of fragrant herbs and delicate petals.
A beautiful morning of creativity, sensory exploration, and imaginative play! ๐Ÿ’šโœจ

Before, during, after!
Our under 2's are very into their story books at the moment- and have been showing an interest particularly in the Very Hungry Caterpillar story! We utilised some of the beautiful nature growing in and around the garden- as well as a few fresh apple slices to set up a filling and pouring activity outdoors this morning, where together we splashed, stirred and scooped to concoct some lovely leafy tea! ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿ›
