Educational Visits and Learning Experiences Grant

Did you know you may be eligible to receive a grant towards the cost of having an educational visit?

We have just had a school book one of our history workshops and a grant is paying for it. This particular grant is from the Jack Petchey Foundation (a foundation set up for children in East London). https://www.jackpetcheyfoundation.org.uk/opportunities/grant-programmes/educational-visits/

Why not search for grants in your area and see if you can get funding towards having one of our hands-on and memorable workshops?

If you have received grants in the past, please provide details in the comments below to help others :)

What a fantastic day we had at Roman Day at Chester Racecourse on Saturday 30th May!

Historic Workshops was proud to bring a huge team to the event, including 11 costumed walkabout actors, 3 workshop leaders and our brand-new VR team.

Throughout the day, our workshop leaders kept young visitors busy with hands-on Roman activities, including battle formation training, weapon and armour handling sessions, and Roman board games. It was wonderful to see so many children immersing themselves in life as a Roman soldier!

Meanwhile, our walkabout characters brought the event to life across the racecourse. Our four gladiators proved especially popular, drawing crowds of excited spectators throughout the day.

The launch of our new VR team was another highlight, giving visitors the opportunity to experience history in a completely new and immersive way. People got to see the ancient Colosseum, the Circus Maximus and a birds-eye view of Ancient Rome!

A huge thank you to everyone who visited us, took part in our activities, and helped make the day such a success. We loved sharing our passion for history with you all and hope to see you again soon!
