Foxglove (Digitalis purpurea). Tall spikes of thimble-like flowers. Deep green, hairy leaves, growing from a central rosette. Poisonous and can be fatal if ingested, however also used in medicines to treat heart problems, asthma, and epilepsy. Another favourite for bees 🐝💛🖤💜🩷
(Note that the visible leaves in the background are not from the foxglove)

Green alkanet (Pentaglottis sempervirens). A member of the Boraginaceae family. Considered by many as a nuisance in the garden, but not by bees who rely on this as one of their food sources during spring and summer! Identifying features: roughly hairy leaves and stalk. Oval, pointed leaves. Bright blue flowers with a white central eye.

Sharing my first post 😅 introducing: Ivy leaved toadflax (Cymbalaria muralis) aka Kenilworth ivy. Native to Southern Europe and a member of the plantain family. One of my favourite wild flowers with its beautiful, tiny, purple corolla flowers 💜 my photos will always be unfiltered for clear plant ID.
