A once-in-a-lifetime experience for students from Brook Mead Academy today, as they took to the stage at the Barbican during a special ceremony to celebrate Waterstones’ new Children’s Laureate.

Our students had the incredible opportunity to meet world-renowned authors and read extracts from their favourite books in front of a packed audience. It was an unforgettable experience that will stay with them for years to come, and we couldn’t be prouder of the confidence, passion and enthusiasm they showed.

A huge thank you to BookTrust for making this amazing opportunity possible. Experiences like these inspire a lifelong love of reading, and we’re so grateful our students were able to be part of such a special day.

What a fantastic way to celebrate 90 years of North Mead Primary Academy's site.

The NorthFest event last week was a great success. The Lord Mayor attended along with local families. There was a magic show, sprinklers, games (lots of water activities to cool down!) and, of course, an icecream van.
