We have been truly blessed with all kinds of weather recently – rain, sunshine and snow! The children at School’s Out have been busy discovering how the outdoors changes with every season🌧️☀️❄️

We have enjoyed trips to the park, walks through nature, spotting horses, and even watching nearby building works with great curiosity 👷‍♀️🐴🌳.

Every outing brings new opportunities to learn through real-life experiences and develop a love for the world around us 💚

Over the past week, the children took part in activities to mark Remembrance Day. Together, we created a special poppy to lay at the Rothley village memorial and we had the wonderful opportunity to assist local volunteers in decorating the memorial with poppies!

The children spent time discussing what Remembrance means, reflecting on kindness, gratitude, community and the importance of looking after others ❤️

🎨🧡 This week at preschool, we’ve been exploring The Colour Monster!💛

The children have been learning all about emotions through this wonderful story. Each colour represents a different feeling, helping our little ones start to understand and talk about their emotions.

To bring our learning to life, we’ve been busy making a bright and beautiful Colour Monster display in our room. The children also loved getting creative and working together to create our very own Colour Monster scarecrow for the Rothley Scarecrow Hunt! 🌈🌾

🎓✨ Preschool Graduation Day! ✨🎓

Last week we celebrated our amazing butterfly group as they graduated from preschool! 🎉 Our fabulous practitioners read personalised poems for each of their key children to celebrate their unique and wonderful personalities 💛

After the ceremony, the fun continued with a special party to mark this milestone. 🎈🍰🎶

We’re so proud of each and every one of our graduates — ready to shine bright in their next adventure! 🌟

Today our little ones had an excellent time making fruit faces! 🍎🍇

Not only was this activity lots of fun, but it helped the children to build on important skills for school readiness!

🥝✂️ With careful hands and child-safe knives, the children practiced their fine motor skills and knife safety.

👃👅 They also explored different textures, smells, and tastes, engaging all their senses while learning about foods that make our bodies strong. 💪

And importantly, the children expressed their creativity and had lots of fun while doing it! 😊

Over the half term break, we have been busy transforming our outdoor learning area for the children to explore, learn and grow! 🌿

The children love our regular visits from the School’s Out pet, Mei the tortoise. Today, Mei came to visit so the children could have hands on experience in animal care! 🧑🏻‍⚕️
The children discussed how to care for animals and what they can do to look after their pets and the wildlife.
The children took charge in giving Mei back scratches and helping her have a bath - we learnt that tortoises enjoy baths as they can absorb water to hydrate through their tail! The children also hunted in the garden and found plenty of dandelions to feed to Mei - her favourite! 🐢🌿

This week, our curious learners explored the wonderful world of People Who Help Us! From doctors and firefighters to vets and police officers, we learned how everyday heroes make our world a better place! 🚒🚓 Through stories, role play, and crafting, the children discovered the many ways people care for and support us in our community. 🩺❤️👨🏻‍✈️

And of course, no week would be complete without plenty of outdoor play! From muddy, messy play to sunny adventures, our little ones have been busy, curious, and eager to learn . 🌦️🌿

Nature plays a crucial role in the holistic development of children, improving physical health, emotional well-being, intellectual growth, and environmental awareness🌳 and above all of that, the children love it!☺️
