Tuesday 28th July 🚑 Summer Club Excitement! 🌟🚑

We are thrilled to announce that St John Ambulance will be joining us at Summer Club for a special first aid session! The children will have the opportunity to learn some simple but important life-saving skills in a fun, hands-on and age-appropriate way.

St John Ambulance is well known for helping young people learn how to respond in emergencies and build confidence in keeping themselves and others safe.

From learning who to call in an emergency to discovering basic first aid skills, it's going to be an exciting and educational experience that the children won't forget! 🚑❤️

We can't wait to see our little learners become mini first aid heroes! 🌟

💡 Shadow Exploration at Little Gems Preschool 💡

Today the children became little scientists as they explored how shadows are made using a lamp and a variety of different shapes and objects.

The children enjoyed investigating which objects created shadows, noticing how the shapes appeared on the wall and experimenting with moving objects closer to and further away from the light source.

We talked about light, dark, shapes and patterns while encouraging curiosity, problem-solving and communication skills.

A fun hands-on activity that sparked lots of discussion and learning! ✨

Day one of our annual Pet Week at Little Gems 🐢🐲

Today the children had the exciting opportunity to meet Toadie the bearded dragon and Timmy the tortoise!

Through hands-on experiences like these, children develop confidence, curiosity and respect for living creatures while learning about different habitats, lifecycles and how to care for animals responsibly.

Pet Week also supports communication and language development as the children ask questions, share their thoughts and learn new vocabulary linked to the natural world. We can’t wait to see what the rest of the week brings! 🌿✨

Circle times at little gems are the best 💎

The children loved exploring the shaving foam with their feet, describing how it felt — “cold”, “squishy”, “slippery” and “soft”!

Activities like this help to support confidence, communication, turn taking and sensory development in a fun and engaging way.

There were lots of giggles, smiles and brave attempts from some of our little ones who were unsure at first but joined in beautifully with encouragement from their friends 💫

We love creating playful learning experiences that encourage children to explore, investigate and have fun together! 🫧👣

SAVE THE DATES - we have had lots of enquiries about Summer Club this year and are happy to share our dates however, we are in the process of setting up a new booking system. We expect this to be live at the end of May...lots of new and exciting things coming this summer....including Junior First Aid training delivered by the St Johns Ambulance!!
