Dance moms, when a new family joins the team, don’t make them earn their way into the circle.

Pull them in.

Smile first.
Introduce yourself.
Introduce them to everyone else.
Save them a seat.
Help them figure out the rhinestones, lashes, quick changes, and all the chaos that comes with being new.

And when their daughter is talented?

Cheer for her.

Don’t see her as competition for your child.
Don’t whisper about placements.
Don’t compare scores.
Don’t let another little girl’s success suddenly feel like your daughter’s loss.

Because our dancers are watching us.

They hear what we say in the car after awards.

They notice whether we clap when another dancer wins.

They see which moms we welcome into the circle—and which ones we leave standing outside of it.

And eventually, they will treat their teammates the way they watched us treat their moms.

If we include, they’ll include.

If we cheer, they’ll cheer.

If we teach them there is enough room on that stage for every girl to shine, they’ll believe it.

Dance moms, we don’t just raise dancers.

We help create the culture they dance in.

So be the mom who moves over and makes room.

Because trophies get packed away.

But a little girl will always remember how her team made her feel. ❤️

Another Saturday has absolutely flown by at DC! 🫨💞
