⚽️✨ What an incredible day at the Adam Redfern Memorial Football Tournament! 36 teams battled it out and The Adam Redfern Memorial Fund has raised a fantastic £2,000 🎉💪

Adam’s legacy lives on through this amazing event and the funds will help spread awareness of cardiac risks in young adults as well as support media and sports students at DMU ❤️

Alumnus of the Quarter: Stephen Iliffe🎓

Stephen Iliffe enrolled at De Montfort University Leicester (DMU) – Leicester Polytechnic at the time – in 1981 to study Photography and Graphic Design 📸

Forty years after graduating and as an award-winning photographer, Stephen has just showcased his latest exhibition, Deaf Mosaic, at DMU 🖼️

Unexpected Journey's: Turning Pages 📚

Christopher Steele, alumnus of DMU would have never guessed he would be a published author if you’d asked him 20 years ago. It wasn’t until the pandemic in 2020 that Christopher decided to pick up a pen and paper and start writing a book 📝

While securing a publishing deal on his first attempt is one of his biggest achievements, Christopher is also quick to note that graduating from DMU and earning promotions at his current job are of equal importance 👏

Christopher’s modest outlook on life stands as evidence that there isn’t a singular path your life can take; sometimes going off track can lead to great things even if it’s not what you first envisioned for yourself 🗺️

Adventures with DMU 🌄

We’ve set up a network for any alumni who are interested in starting their own challenge and fundraising for an important cause at DMU 💪 💰

You can choose to participate in an organised challenge like Run for Redfern, a 5K fun-run in honour of a beloved DMU alumnus and colleague, or you can choose your own challenge like walking a certain amount of steps in a month or knitting for the average time it takes to run a marathon 🏃 🧶
