We had a great session at Code Club today. This time we decided to have a boat race!🛥️💧

The children had to code the game to make sure they avoided the obstacles but add ‘if’ blocks to code what would happen if they hit them! 🛥️💥

We can’t wait to see what challenge we have next week 🎉

🧱 Construction Club 🧱
This week, the children have continued to develop their building skills. They have made castles, houses, hotels, lighthouses and much more. The children have shown real perseverance and great teamwork!

Year 3 had a fantastic time today visiting Brindley Mill as part of their local Geography study.

The children enjoyed exploring this important local landmark, and learning about its history. It was a wonderful opportunity to bring their classroom learning to life and develop their understanding of the community around them.

A big thank you to the staff at Brindley Mill for making our visit so informative and engaging!

A very exciting gardening club week! Today we pulled up the garlic planted last October. To say was an extremely successful harvest would be an understatement. The garlic will now be dried out for a few weeks. Some will then go home with gardening club and some will be stored at school to be used in cooking lessons throughout next year. In place of the garlic we have planted peppers and pumpkins! 🎃

🌦️🚂 Year 1 had a fantastic day at Brampton Museum!

The children enjoyed exploring the playground, took part in an exciting Lighthouse Keepers lunch workshop, and even had the chance to ride the museum's miniature train. 🚂

Despite the wet weather, everyone had a wonderful time and made lots of special memories. Well done, Year 1, for being such enthusiastic learners and representing Westwood First School so brilliantly! ⭐
