Contemporary Self Portrait Workshop with Dan Cimmerman 🎭

Join us for a special self portraiture session with artist 🎨

Using *ourselves* as the subject, and working from ‘life’ with a mirror, guest tutor Dan will guide our group through creating abstract backgrounds on paper (using various dry media, layers of paint and collage) to then build a contemporary Self Portrait, using monoprint and acrylic paint.

Creative expression, experimentation, playing with texture, colour and composition sit at the heart of this workshop.

We finished our 3 week course last night with Tone, lots of dramatic lighting, smudging charcoal, following the light, and having fun experimenting and trying new things. Well done everyone!

An evening of concentration and precision 🙇‍♀️. Week Two life drawing with me! () Last night we focussed on the space around the life model, using it to help us to draw more accurately, and to keep checking lines, angles and positioning 📐😅 Well done everyone I know it’s a tricky one but now we’ve sharpened our observational skills 💯and don’t worry it is Expressive Tone next week 😁🎨

We’re back! First life drawing of 2026, nice to blow the cobwebs off the Christmas break and get cracking in some good old drawing practice 🤩 We have spaces on Wednesday available too 🎨

PAINT LIKE A PRO 🎨 We are so excited to announce that we are hosting a Life Painting Masterclass with Richard Kitson!

Renowned portrait and figurative artist from Barnsley, Richard has exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery in this years Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer Portrait Award (swipe for the painting he exhibited)

In this day workshop we will be painting beautiful using oil paint and through a series of demonstrations and tuition we will each build our own painting of Alice. Exciting!
