Mr Baldwin, our marvellous volunteer gardener, is working hard to prepare our school garden for next week's Summer Fair on Friday 12 June...fingers crossed it keeps fine! Enormous thanks to our wonderful helpers who do so much, quietly and in the background, to help us function: bakers for our Fairs, painters and decorators, admin, our welfare and health & safety audit group members - they are absolute stars 🌟

A severe allergic reaction can develop quickly, so knowing what to do in an emergency is essential.
This week’s guide gives parents, carers and educators a clear overview of adrenaline devices, including EpiPen, Jext and nasal adrenaline.
The guide covers:
• Symptoms affecting the airway, breathing and circulation
• How different adrenaline devices are used
• Why the patient should lie down and remain still
• The importance of calling 999
• Why two devices should always be carried
It also reinforces a vital message: using adrenaline promptly is always better than waiting.

Oral language plays a vital role in children’s learning, literacy and social and emotional development.
Our latest guide supports parents and educators with practical, evidence-informed strategies to help children build school-ready language skills.
The guide explores:
• Building oral language through meaningful interaction
• Supporting listening and attention
• Growing children’s vocabulary
• Sharing stories and naming feelings
• Working with settings to spot and support language needs
• Using evidence-based approaches to meet individual needs
With language developing rapidly between the ages of two and six, early support can make a lasting difference to children’s confidence, communication and readiness for school.

Some of our children attended the Friendship Club at Ferndale this morning. They played some gentle games with the residents and good fun was had by all. Thank you Ferndale 😊

It’s happening!!! 🦋 Reception and Infants will be delighted to hear that the first butterfly has emerged from its chrysalis!
Cerin is keeping a watchful eye over them…
We were delighted to welcome our former Head Boy back to Queenswood School to share his experiences of joining us in Year 3.
In this short video he reflects on how quickly he settled into school life, the opportunities he enjoyed during his time here and the confidence he has taken with him into the next stage of his education. His story is a wonderful example of the supportive and nurturing environment we are so proud of at Queenswood.
