Sixth Form at Horsforth

Our Sixth Form Golf Academy students put in a strong performance against Woodhouse Grove School at Bradford Golf Club.

Despite a 3-1 defeat, the team competed brilliantly in challenging conditions and gained valuable competitive experience. Well done to Will, Aleks, Lewis, Ben, Jimmy, Ellie, Gethin and Caleb for representing Horsforth so well!

Our Year 12 Law students took part in the fantastic interactive afternoon with the BPP University outreach team. The day included pathways into Law, a criminal law workshop, and the opportunity to network with solicitors and trainees from the Leeds commercial law firm. A brilliant insight into the legal profession!

Our sport students experienced a fantastic theory practical lesson at Leeds Beckett University! They explored calorimetry testing and video analysis to support their understanding of technology in sport, using state-of-the-art equipment. A brilliant hands-on experience with great insight into university-level learning!

Our Golf Academy students recently faced Ilkley Grammar School in league action. Although Ilkley took the win, there was some fantastic golf on show throughout. Well done to Oli, Joe, Kieran, Luke, Jimmy, Gethin, Aleks and Caleb for representing the academy so well! ⛳

Our physics students recently took part in a hands-on oscilloscope experiment in labs at the University of Leeds, gaining valuable experience to support their A Level. During the session, students used signal generators while exploring phase shifts and capacitor time constants! A fantastic opportunity to develop their practical skills in a real university setting.

Year 13 parents, if your son/daughter has a morning exam coming up, don't forget to let them know they can grab free toast and fruit from Commons Grounds. We don't want rumbling tummies while trying to concentrate! 🍏
