Have you got a creative skill to share? 🌈🎨

MAP Education is looking for volunteers to share their skills, ideas and creativity with young people.

We’re looking for passionate, creative people who can commit to regular voluntary sessions and build a relationship with the young people we work with. 🌻

🎹Maybe you’re into art, design, music production, beat making, lyric writing, DJing, photography, film, digital media, illustration, making things — or something completely different.🎙️

You don’t need to be a teacher. If you’ve got a creative skill, enjoy working with young people and want to share what you know, we’d love to hear from you.

What a difference a team can make! 🌟
Last week we had the absolute pleasure of welcoming a gorgeous team of volunteers from The Transpennine Route Upgrade and WHAT a transformation 🎨
Our education rooms have had a complete revamp with terracotta, deep blue, buttery yellow and minty green bringing a whole new burst of colour and energy ✨✨
We’re so happy with our new spaces but even more grateful for the dedication that the team brought with them!
It was such a pleasure to meet everyone and spend the day creating a special and inspiring place for the young people who learn here.
And of course huge thank you to House of Zena for keeping everyone fuelled with a homemade veggie lasagne! 🥕🫑🍅
To the whole team, thank you so much!! We couldn’t have done it without you!! ✨🌟💕

Our MAP volunteers team had the best weekend Deer Shed Festival ! We are so grateful for the opportunity to raise vital funds for our charity, and we had lots of fun doing it! 🎨

Deer Shed is the most gorgeous of festivals. 🌈 We were lucky enough to see some incredible bands, and get creative with some workshops too (knife whittling anyone?!). Some of us even managed a wild swim to blow away the cobwebs. 🕸️🕸️

🌞☘️Thank you to our incredible volunteers, to everyone who donated, chatted to us about our work, and generally made sure we had a brilliant weekend. ☘️🌞

We want to give a huge thank you to Audio-Technica EMEA for donating a load of their equipment to us! 🎧

Here’s some pictures of the record players/needles getting used at a sampling workshop run by BOSSdaddy & Sangria Kong in the Cosmic Slop, Leeds. studio & them in use at the record fair that happens in every 2nd Thursday of the month⭐️

Donations like this make a massive difference to us being able to deliver unique workshops, teaching techniques that our students wouldn’t be able to access in mainstream education.

We’ve had a lovely afternoon at our Summer Exhibition 🌟

It has been so wonderful seeing our young people celebrating their achievements and proudly showcasing their incredible artwork, digital media and creative projects. The talent, resilience, and progress on display is so inspiring to see!

A real highlight was seeing young people hear the tracks they’ve produced play on our world class sound system. Such an incredible moment 🚀

Huge thank you to everyone who came along to support our learners and help make the day so special.

☘️Are you a small business or creative professional looking to join a welcoming workspace community?🌻

From 1 July we will have a space in our partitioned workspace available for rent for £157 a month. 🪴🪴 You’ll have your own booth and a gorgeous home in our community of wonderful creatives. 🎨 Plus a bar on site!

The workspaces are located in our Grade II listed home on Mabgate in central Leeds. 🚗🚗 On site car parking also available for an additional cost.

From supporting young people in the classroom to helping maintain our Grade II listed home, delivering cultural programmes, and everything in between, our volunteers make so much of what we do possible.

We’ve got some exciting guests coming to visit for our late night events in April in our Gallery space. 🪴🌼

A special shout out to our Manchester 🚂🚂 friends for our lovely trip over to SOUP at the weekend.

🌻🌻Tickets for all of our late night events in the Gallery are available through the link in our bio, at cosmicslop.org and from behind the Refectory bar after 8pm.

Our Refectory bar will be open for DJs, drinks and merch sales from 5pm every Thursday, Friday and Saturday. It’s looking gorgeous now the sun is shining and we’ve got some great new T-Shirts hand printed in house.

Come and say hello to the team! ⭐️⭐️And even better, every penny you spend with us goes towards helping us meet our charitable objectives and working with young people at risk of exclusion from school. 🪴
