Happy New Year! I’m sure none of the Children made it to midnight! Ha ha! Still time for Mummy’s and Daddy’s to have a bit of fun! Hope you’ve all had a nice New Year! Looking forward to seeing everyone next week ready for new things and activities!

This week we squeezed in 2 arts and crafts! Gingerbread men AND snowmen! We stuck out cotton wool down and then using pipettes we squeezed up paint to drop onto our snowmen! This is great for practising those fine motor skills and strengthen those smaller muscles in our hands to help with hold pens and writing as we get older.

Had such a lovely “Gingerbread” morning!!! Play doh has never smelt so nice!!! The children loved playing with it and making gingerbread and other shapes. Then they made their own Gingerbread men to bring home! All followed by a couple of Gingerbread stories and a Gingerbread man to eat!!! 😍🎅🏽🤶🏽🎄🥳

Recycle, recycle, recycle! This week we have been learning about what things we can recycle and what we can’t. We played a game with cards of items to put into either the recycling bin or the normal bin. The children loved this! Then to put into practise different ways to recycle we went crazy with paint on a used card box! They liked this even more as they could put the paint whenever they wanted. 🎨 🗑️ ♻️

A lovely couple of mornings spent gathering leaves, twigs and conkers for lots of Autumn mark making! We talked about colours, textures and shapes.

As the summer comes to a close we unfortunately say goodbye to a few families as they move on to Nurseries and Schools. This is the hardest part of the job. Always strange as it’s so sad yet we’re so excited for all the new adventures ahead of them! I always say what an honour it is when a new family chooses us to help with their care and early years education. We have had the pleasure and privilege for the last few years with these amazing children! The world is your oyster! Go grab it!!! 😍
