Want to know more about... improving the health of learning disabled and autistic adults
Thursday 2 July 2026, 11am to midday

Creating a healthy lifestyle isn't just about physical fitness; itโ€™s about empowerment, autonomy, and finding joy in wellbeing. For learning disabled and autistic adults, navigating health and wellbeing can often come with unique barriers such as sensory processing differences, navigating complex healthcare systems and inaccessible information.

At this webinar we will be discussing the barriers many people face, and practical ways we can all work together to make healthy living more accessible for everyone.

- insights from the food and nutrition workshop
- insights from delivering health and wellbeing sessions for learning disabled and autistic adults
- the importance of individualised interventions
- the involvement of the individualโ€™s circle of support
- wellbeing duty: the need to support healthy choices
- This online session will be delivered by:

Emma Strachan, Health Improvement Specialist (Food and Nutrition), Leeds City Council Public Health team and Al Mayes, Healthy Lifestyles Project Manager, People in Action
