This week put preschoolers went ‘back to basics’ 🍎👩‍🏫

Starting off the academic year with colours! 🎨
We explored colours, compared them, created them and saw them in various different materials and figured out where to find them!

We had THE best day for our open day!🥹

Thankyou so much to everyone who came, it means a lot to us ❤️ it was so nice to see you all, have a chat and a giggle! Along with all our amazing activities and the kiddies having a blast!🎨🧪📸

The rain held off and we even had a dash of ☀️

Good luck to all our preschoolers heading off to big school this week😭, you are amazing little people and will take to it like ducks to water 🦆

Here at Active Kids we pride ourselves on having such amazing outdoor spaces🪴🪵 (4 gardens to be precise!) and the amount of time we spend outdoors! (As much as possible!)🌳

The freedom, curiosity and encouragement given by our incredible team really do build self confidence for our children. 👏

🎨🌳Forest school fun🌳🎨

We used tree trimmings as our paint brushes today. We explored all the different leaf sizes, shapes, how many leaves each branch had and the patterns we could create with them!

And as forest school is all about independence, nature and curiosity, the children then led the way. Moving on from just leaves and branches, to printing, using pippets, hands and mud! 🌿

Finally, everyone worked as a team to accumulate water, tipping and pouring our water tray into our forest school bath! They then carried it between them to fill our mud pit! Then, they had some real fun!✌️👏🤣

Sorry about your washing parents.. but look at their faces 🥹 having the time of their life!

✨🌳We are holding our Annual Garden Party on Saturday 29th August 11am - 1pm.🌳✨

We will have loads of activities out 🎨, experiments 🧪🔭 and free play, along with food 🍕and face painting!

We would love to see as many faces, old and new there to come play, chat and have a fabulous day- hopefully in the sunshine!

This week preschool have been experimenting!!!

We have explored colour changing, movements, chemical reactions and mixtures🔬🧪

This came after our preschoolers had been learning about space, they noticed the difference in planets, air, space and time. 🌩️🌪️

So we had to explore what we could do!
Looks like they had fun🥰🫶

Happy Father’s Day to all the daddies out there!
(All daddies, step dads, grandads and so on!)

Now we can finally reveal what our forest school Father’s Day gifts were!💁🏼‍♀️

A medal for the men in our lives!
We drilled, foraged, glued and poured love into our special gifts.❤️

We hope you love them!!

🔥💐Forest school fun 💐🔥

In our last session we decided to make our own snack outside on the fire pit 💁🏼‍♀️
🌳We collected water as we know we need a source to put out the fire when we are finished!
🌳 we all helped to build up the straw and wood to enable Ellie to start the fire!
🌳 fire was burning away, cooking our hot chocolates 🥰
🌳we also cooked some bread for snack!

Finally, we headed into the forest garden to collect flowers and made paper vases for our parents/carers 🥰
