🔥💐Forest school fun 💐🔥
In our last session we decided to make our own snack outside on the fire pit 💁🏼♀️
🌳We collected water as we know we need a source to put out the fire when we are finished!
🌳 we all helped to build up the straw and wood to enable Ellie to start the fire!
🌳 fire was burning away, cooking our hot chocolates 🥰
🌳we also cooked some bread for snack!
Finally, we headed into the forest garden to collect flowers and made paper vases for our parents/carers 🥰

Clearly we have created such a welcoming atmosphere here, that we have some birdies nesting extremely low down and close to us! ❤️
They have even used natural materials from our small dead hedge we built🥰
Glad we could help birdies!🪺🐦⬛

That’s why here, we nourish their curiosities about the natural world, teach them valuable knowledge, so they know how important it is..

Thank you Sir David🌹💐

We celebrated the arrival of spring! (FINALLY!)
We made fairy wands from willow tree🌳 utilising natures resources and practicing using our tools🔨🔧.
We use secateurs to snip our willow to the preferred size, then some also wanted to use the junior hack saw too!- amazing hand eye coordination from our team, along with some super strong muscles!😎
After this, the children led us to making potions and waterfalls, taking mark making to a new level and pouring them down some paper on a hill! They were so proud!🥹🥰🥹🥰🥹🥰
3 hours we played, explored, conversed, worked as a team and embraced everything the outdoors had to offer🌼🌿
This. This is why we do what we do❤️

We have had the best week in the sunshine☀️
Spring has almost sprung and we can feel it! Spending our days outside, planting, building, creating!
It’s wonderful. The children love our natural outdoor resource’s and thrive from having a challenge! 🌿🥰

So much learning going on!🥰
As preschool has been focusing on mini beasts this week, that fit perfectly into forest school and the many things we can create to
help the beasts!🐞
Firstly, I taught the children about ‘dead hedging’ where we use old, decomposing sticks and leaves to creat a small hedge. This acts as a prefect place for these little beasties to thrive! We used our hammers to hammer in the stakes and began building our hedge with all the old foliage Ellie had pruned previously (as nothing goes to waste here!) 🐜
Then we each made our own mini bug houses with toilet roll tubes! We filled the bottom with mud and moss and then scoured the garden for natural resources we think the bugs will love!🪲
Lastly, we created some potions with natural resources. This came about as we had done some pruning and removing of leaves from our vegetable plants that the bugs had a nibble of!
So many amazing questions and stories from everyone, we love forest school 🪵🌿🥰
