🐛🦋 Reception class were thrilled to receive some caterpillars and have observed their incredible life cycle over the last few weeks. This hands-on learning experience has allowed them to watch as the caterpillars grow, form chrysalides, and finally emerged as beautiful butterflies.

Year 5 had a brilliant day at Wetherby High School. They took part in English, maths, cooking, history and PE to really get a feel for what high school life is like. They really enjoyed getting stuck into lessons and eating the pizza pinwheels!

We are incredibly proud of Oak Class, who have been absolutely amazing this week, sitting their SATs. They have demonstrated all of our school values, not just this week, but with all of their hard work leading up to SATs. A big thank you to Miss Capstick, Mrs Smith and Miss Baxter who have ensured that their days have got off to a good start this week, with a hearty breakfast at 'Oak Cafe' and some fresh air and exercise. Well done Oak Class! You have smashed it!

What a day Maple class have had! We visited the Magna Science Adventure Centre where we explored many different ways of using and creating power within each of the four pavilions. Year 5 were fantastic representatives of Thorner and showed great skill when making, and collecting samples from, their very own volcanoes!

Cedar Class made pancakes in D.T. on Thursday as part of their 'cooking and nutrition' topic. We talked about how we could make pancakes healthy and worked as a team to create the mixture. We were fast mixers, careful choppers and happy eaters! 🍴🥞🥘

This year, to celebrate World Art Day, we embraced the theme ‘Scapes’. Each class explored a unique project inspired by Landscapes, Seascapes, Mountainscapes, or Cityscapes.

Take a moment to marvel at the incredible creativity showcased across the school—we couldn’t be prouder of all the children and their fantastic work!
