Madame Flora, with the help of her daughter Monica and Toby, a mute servant, tries to cheat her clients through faked seances. During a seance, she is touched by a hand, an occurrence she cannot explain, eventually driving her to insanity, drink and murder.

🔮CALLING ALL LEEDS CONSERVATOIRE STUDENTS🔮
We are very excited to announce that our next production will be The Medium by Menotti.
Audition sign ups are now open!!
Please email us at [email protected] for audition information if you wish to be a part of this production and an audition pack will be sent out. If you wish to enquire further about the roles in this production please email us.
There will be details advertised later in the semester about being involved in the orchestra for this project.
We are looking to hold this production late June, dates will be confirmed in due course.
The deadline to sign up for a principle role is 5pm 14th January. Auditions will take place on the evening of 20th January and morning of 28th January.
As this production does not have a written chorus, we will be adding a small chorus either end of the production. The chorus will be open to anyone in the society.

The LCSU Opera Society are proud to announce the first screening of their production of Purcell’s ‘Dido and Aeneas’, which will be shown in the Rooftop Bar on Friday the 12th of November. Arrivals from 6pm and the screening will begin at 7pm. Cafe:Bar will be open for refreshments so grab a drink and come up to support your fellow students! All Conservatoire students are welcome! We are thrilled to announce the new committee for the upcoming academic year. There are plenty of exciting plans in the pipeline and we have every faith that this team will be able to deliver these to an extremely high standard!
The retiring president Jane Burnell says to current members and anyone thinking of joining the society:

will be a new, innovative and immersive production that demonstrates the perseverance of our company over the past year. The opera will explore the aspects of what we, as a company, think it is to be powerful woman by looking at the beloved character of Dido through a new lens.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗔 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸𝗲𝗻𝗱! 👇
For the first time this year we welcomed the full cast of Dido & Aeneas into the rehearsal room for a weekend packed with movement workshops, Masterclasses and character improvisation.
As part of our promise to members to provide opportunities to work directly with industry professionals, and joined our production team to lead these sessions and WOW did we learn a lot!
With our actual production rehearsals starting in June, this weekend was about giving the cast ideas and tools to draw upon when beginning to shape their own roles.
A big thank you to Sophie and Chris, Kate for leading a short yoga class at the start of both days, and our wonderful cast.
