Our Skills Builder Days are a key part of what makes our apprenticeship programmes so special.

These dedicated sessions bring all of our apprentices together to develop skills that go beyond their qualification and support them both professionally and personally. From safeguarding workshops and storytelling sessions to careers guidance, cookery classes, financial literacy and budgeting workshops, and much more, our apprentices gain valuable experiences that help prepare them for every aspect of life and work.

While these sessions compliment and strengthen the practical skills needed in the early years sector, they also build confidence, resilience, communication skills, and independence.

In fact, during our most recent Ofsted inspection, inspectors commented that they had never seen anything quite like our Skills Builder Days among apprenticeship providers. It's something we're incredibly proud of and reflects our commitment to developing well-rounded early years professionals.

Reading just 10 minutes a day can expose children to thousands of new words each year, small daily habits such as a story before bedtime can make a big difference to language development.
🌟 Fun Fact #02
Children learn best when they feel safe, secure, and valued. Positive relationships are at the heart of quality early years education.

Drawing, threading beads, and using playdough all help strengthen the muscles needed for writing. Fine motor development starts long before children pick up a pencil in school.

Children begin learning emotional regulation from trusted adults.
When adults model calm behaviour and talk about feelings, children learn how to manage their own emotions. Creating a safe and calming space in an Early Years setting is essential.

Babies are born with billions of brain cells, but connections between them grow through everyday experiences. That's why talking, singing, reading, and playing are so important in the early years.
