Beginners Pottery A fantastic opportunity for you to try your hand at creating in clay, using hand building techniques and throwing on a potter's wheel.

We are delighted to announce that we’ve brought pottery to Northlight.

Join Leeds artist Jeannie from Crackle Pots whose wealth of experience in teaching and pottery will help get you started on your first steps into making ceramics. Whether you fancy rising to the challenge of creating a masterpiece, or just trying a new skill at a more relaxing pace, this taster course is for you.
The course will include hand building and sculpture, sgraffito and decoration and one to one tuition on the wheel. ( each person gets 30minutes slot on the wheel with tuition from Jeannie)

Had a go at hand building and made this platter. Got inspired by by rolling foliage into the clay.

Finally got the wall hung planters finished!

FINALLY got these #wallhungplanters finished. They're too small, and I forgot to add a hole in the bottom for the water to drain...🙄 Apart from that, I'm pretty happy with my first attempt! #handthrownpots

I've been asked to make a plant pot with a flat side, so it can be hung on a wall. I've made 3 shapes on the wheel, I'm going to have a go at flattening one side, see which shape works best, if any!
