Have you ever thought about taking your History research further? Are you missing life and study at Leeds and thinking you might come back to us? :)
If you've ever thought that a History Research degree might be for you, whether it's an MA by Research or a PhD, then we'd love to invite you to our Postgraduate Research Open Evening on Tuesday 3rd November from 5-7pm. You can find out everything you need to know about what a research degree involves. You’ll learn more about the potential benefits and opportunities a History postgraduate research degree can offer, find out about the applications process and funding opportunities, and chat to current PGR students, academic staff and potential supervisors. There will also be complimentary wine, soft drinks and buffet-style snacks to see the evening out!
It's completely free so even if you're not completely sure of your next steps, why not register to find out more? The event will be held at Special Collections in the Brotherton Library on Tuesday 3rd November from 5-7pm. Please email [email protected] to register or for more information!

Some of you may remember David's story of the Davidsons, who met in the School of History at Freshers week in 1963 over cheese and wine! They had asked if they could come back to mark the 50 years to the day that they met.
Well that day is today! We're really pleased to welcome the Davidsons back to the department. David is currently taking them on a tour and then as a special surprise, staff are going to take them to recreate their cheese and wine function.
Who knows... in 50 years, you could be coming back to do the same... ;-)
