The weather conditions this week were perfect for sowing the seeds in our bee and butterfly garden. We need a few dry days now to do our outside painting using our designs. Watch this space !

Today, the children in Nursery were fascinated by a dinosaur book that one of their friends brought in to share. 🦖📚

This sparked an interest in becoming authors and illustrators, leading the children to create their own books. They enjoyed drawing pictures, sharing ideas and telling their own stories! ✏️📖✨

Today Year 3 (Ash class ) went on a local visit to Rodley Nature Reserve. We had a fantastic and very informative day. We took part in many activities and learning opportunities such as;
- A walk around the Reserve with our ‘sticky boards’ to collect and identify plants.
- Bird watching: We learnt how to use binoculars correctly and identified many birds including the rare sand martin. We also saw a heron.
- Pond Dipping: Identifying pond life.
- We also learnt about bees as pollinators and looked at an old working hive.
- At the ponds we learnt about life cycles including frogs and dragon flies.
The adults at the reserve commented on children’s excellent behaviour and how kind and respectful all the children are. Well done all of Year 3. Thank you also to the volunteers at the reserve for all their hard work. I think we will all sleep well tonight doing approximately 14000 steps and walking 6 miles!

As part of community warrior week Year 3 baked biscuits and made thank you cards for firefighters at our local fire station. The gifts were gratefully received at Stanningley Fire Station.
We also upcycled old garden pots and made designs for the wall at our bee and butterfly garden. Will post up dates next half term.

A fantastic day for some of our Year 4, 5 and 6 children at a cricket event at Pudsey Congs! 🏏

The children showed brilliant teamwork, enthusiasm and sportsmanship throughout the day and had an amazing experience developing their cricket skills.

Thank you to Leeds Well School Partnership for organising a great event.

Well done Y6! You have done yourselves proud during SATs week, trying your best every day. This afternoon, we celebrated in style doing various challenges (Taskmaster style!) and enjoying some party food - including a delicious cake thanks to Mrs Gartland!
