Good evening everyone. Hope you have enjoyed your day in the snow, sledging, building snowmen, making snow angels etc and are all tucked up warm and safe now.
Due to the adverse weather conditions it has been decided that we (along with all other Little Owls nurseries) will not open until 10.00am tomorrow morning. This will enable all staff and families to travel safely. Please continue to check Famly in case there are any further updates.
Thank you for your understanding.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN
The children at Little Owls Bramley have enjoyed celebrating Halloween today. They have had a lovely day making and decorating Halloween shaped biscuits, done a Halloween Scavenger Hunt, played Halloween games which included Halloween Hoopla, Monster Crash etc.
Some of the children came to nursery dressed in their Halloween outfits and had their faces painted if they so wished.

Our children in Daisies Room (2-3yr olds) enjoyed a wonderful week of fun in the sun activities. They created large floor art paintings using various resources to make marks. They dressed as pirates and hunted for treasure in the garden, they even found some gold coins :) They made fresh fruit kebabs using knives and shape cutters to cut their own fruit and even painted pictures with ice and crushed up ice to keep cool. I wonder what fun this week will bring?

CARNIVAL
Sunflowers, especially our school leavers, have had a wonderful carnival week.
They have made masks, iced drinks, played games, sung, danced and played musical instruments. Some staff (thank you Stevie) also offered to have wet sponges thrown at them. A wonderful week was had by all.

Daisies (our 2-3 yr olds) have been busy today making Flower Potions in the garden.
They have picked, mixed, stirred, poured, filled, emptied and shared their potions with each other. There was lots of descriptive language used by the children about the things they saw and smelt.

Happy Halloween everyone.
We have had a wonderful spooky time at nursery. All the children have joined in various Halloween activities, including Pumpkin Carving and exploring, Puffy Pumpkin Printing, Halloween Chocolate Crispy Bun making and catching Spiders etc in the big web to name but a few. Some children and staff chose to come to nursery dressed up in their spooky outfits !!!

The children in Sunflowers were encouraged to look at their reflections, then create and explore materials to make their faces through the use of Transient Art & Play dough.
Transient art consists of art made from moveable pieces. The idea is that whatever is created, ultimately, is temporary.
It has been wonderful to see the childrenβs imagination and creativity flourish. There are other benefits to childrenβs learning and development, there is a consistent connection between transient art and maths learning due to the nature of repeating patterns and exploring shapes and sizes. Many mathematical ideas can also be found in transient art through things like reflection and symmetry.
