Kids Academy West Park

At Kids Academy we appreciate how important it is that children look after their teeth and general oral hygiene.
We have created an interactive table in the entrance hall. We hope this leads to conversations with your children about looking after their teeth, and encourage them to see the importance of brushing their teeth twice a day.

Bonfire night is an exciting time for our children and families here at nursery and all around the country however it is important that children understand and learn how to be safe at these events.
Bella has put together a table in the entrance hall of nursery which focuses on staying safe around fire and fireworks.
Babies, Toddlers and Pre-school will be doing lots of exciting activities all about bonfire night while also teaching the children how to stay safe tonight 🔥🎆

Babies, Toddlers and Pre-school were very busy (and messy!) last week exploring lots of spooky Halloween activities 🎃
We hope everyone had a fun Halloween! 👻

Today we celebrated that Shahnaz has worked at Kids Academy for over 20 years!
Throughout her time with us she has worked across all 3 rooms and supported many children, families and practitioners. Thank you for all your hard work Shahnaz, we think you are wonderful!!!

👻 Shake, Rattle and Boogie Halloween Special 🎃

Yesterday the children in Toddlers' and Pre-school Room enjoyed a halloween special Shake, Rattle and Boogie session which focused on Room on the Broom. Kimberly read the book out and based the songs and dances to different parts of the book. We all had so much fun helping the witch throughout the story 🧙‍♀️.

Yesterday our Pre-school children enjoyed a visit to Alexandra Court Residential Home for their monthly Debutots Leeds West & Central session with Laura!
The children absolutely love visiting our friends at Alexandra Court and really enjoyed Laura's Halloween Special Debutots session yesterday where we had to help flappy bat and skelly skeleton work together!🎃👻

Our Intergenerational Halloween session at Alexandra Court Residential Home was full of BOOs, giggles, flapping bats, and clacking Skellys this afternoon! 🦇☠️

The children from Kids Academy West Park were brilliant and helped their Grandfriends mix up a bubbly witchy potion together before enjoying our lovely story and then pumpkin picking too! 🎃

What a lovely time we all had! 🖤🧡

Thank you for all the donations left in the entrance hall of nursery for the local food bank. The children in Toddler Room delivered the food to the food bank yesterday. Before they left to deliver the food they read a book which discussed the food bank and how this helps so many people and families around us.

Next week Toddler Room’s topic is Food 🍎
Lexie has put together a food bank donation table in the entrance hall of nursery which includes a shopping list activity - you can write a list of things that you can purchase at the supermarket for the food bank and donate! Lexie has also attached some example items that the food banks are in need of.

You can either bring your items to nursery and place them on the table or you can donate them to your local food bank yourself.
At the end of the week we will donate these to the local food bank.

We also have our donation clothes rail and toy box in the entrance hall which you can also donate to yourself or take some items you may need!

We have had a lovely few weeks back at nursery, it has been wonderful to hear all the lovely things everyone has done over the summer holidays.
The children have also enjoyed having Kimberly back who delivers our Shake, Rattle and Boogie sessions fortnightly.

We hope our Pre-school children have settled into their new schools well. We have loved seeing pictures of you all in your school uniform.

Our Pre-school children had another lovely visit to Alexandra Court Residential Home this afternoon for our Debutots Leeds West & Central session!

Today we explored colours and animals through a story based around 'Splat the cat'! We had fun singing, dancing and popping bubbles!
