I have been a Freelance Music tutor and accompanist for several years now, working with students of all ages. I am currently employed by Roundhay Music. Training for safeguarding young and vulnerable adults/ children obtained.
Sometimes when working on rhythm, I find it helpful to play along with the student, mimicking their part. It builds up confidence and allows them the freedom to make mistakes while also maintaining a steady pulse! This video was captured by a parent, as I was working on this exact technique!
This week's student highlight is Dylan! He has been working very hard for his Grade 4 exam next month. This is one of his pieces, called Cloudscape! 😊 Dylan is very talented and is one to watch for the future! 🎶
This week's student highlight is Edward playing the Super Mario Brothers theme while rocking the t-shirt! Edward has just achieved a merit in his Grade 2 Piano exam so we thought we'd have some fun with this! It only took him a week to learn 😲

This week's student highlight is Lourdes, performing something she has been working on for her Grade 7 exam. A very atmospheric piece that has only been put together in the past couple of months!
Today's student highlight is Lara! Currently working towards her GCSE ensemble exam, she has chosen Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy! With a few weeks still to go, she is working very hard and sounding great! 🎶
Today's student highlight comes from my final student of the week on a Friday evening. We've been working so hard on this piece and his practice has paid off!! With it being at such a fast tempo and with several very tricky hand positions throughout, it takes a lot of time and patience to achieve playing like this! Very proud teacher 😊
