Keep revising Year 11! The next English Language exam is in the morning (Friday). Well done for your hard work in the pre-exam revision sessions this afternoon. The English team will see you from 8:00am.

Our Year 10 Photography students went on photography trips to document the people and produce of the market as part of their current portrait project. They will be editing and curating their work for a public 5-day exhibition at Leeds Kirkgate Market.

Some of our Year 10 students took part in the final part of the workshop after our Talk the Talk sessions at Leeds Trinity University. Students used their communication skills to take part in a debate against other schools in Leeds. The students' debate was about the environment, Ai and mental health. Well done to Vy and Akua for being the best individual speakers in the debate! Cockburn School got the runners up trophy.

Some of our students took part in the 'Raindrops Development Pathways' session this afternoon as part of our wellbeing and character developments. They had to design and create their own bird houses working together as a team to develop creativity, communication skills and resilience. The students did an amazing job and their bird houses were fantastic!

June is Pride Month – a time to celebrate and show support for LGBTQIA+ people across the UK and around the world. It’s also a valuable opportunity to recognise the experiences of LGBTQIA+ communities and think about how we can continue building understanding.
For students, knowing they are accepted and supported can have a powerful impact. School or college should feel like a place where everyone can be themselves and where all identities are welcomed without judgement.
This month Cockburn School will be exploring themes of diversity through our Form Time curriculum wc 8th June.
