Valley View Community Primary School

This week, Limley Class took their maths learning outside. They enjoyed a treasure trail of decimal calculations, showing super focus and great teamwork to find all the solutions. Well done, Year 4!

Wenning Class and Washburn Class are starting to rehearse for their leavers' play. We are hoping to see their dramatic tendencies come to the fore, and looking forward to some lovely singing! So far, so good!

As part of our Linking Schools project, All Saints C of E Primary School came to Valley View last week to visit Ryburn Class. The children had a great time playing different games together such as cricket and tennis. They participated in activities based on being together and created their own handshakes as a way to greet one another. Both classes had fun and lots of new friendships have been created.

Last week in their geography lessons, Deepdale Class were learning about the world's oceans. They discovered the five oceans and learned lots of interesting facts about each one. The children also used maps and globes to locate and identify the oceans around the world. We were very impressed with their enthusiasm and growing geographical knowledge!

Humber Class have started the final half term of the year in maths by recapping 'Time'. They were set the challenge to label the clock. They had to check each others' work and label the clock correctly. Next they will add hands to the clock and quiz each other.

The children in Reception took part in 'The Big School Workout 'with Joe Wicks as part of Mental Health week.

The Nursery children have been working on their pattern-making in maths. They have been practising creating their own AB patterns, as well as using the mosaic tiles to match pictures and patterns. Well done, children!
