Children in Lower 1 and Transition have just released some of the butterflies that they have watched transform over the last few weeks. From tiny caterpillars to beautiful painted lady butterflies, the children have watched the process of metamorphosis with fascination! 🦋

Reception class had a busy and fun day on their educational visit to Hesketh Farm. They enjoyed weighing, mixing and preparing milk for the lambs and calves before helping to feed them. Farmer Chris took them on a fun tractor ride then they went on a paddock walk.
Other highlights included visiting the pigs and piglets, cuddling guinea pigs and playing in the play park!

Gatehouse Nursery children enjoyed meeting the ducklings today. They waddled, slid around and loved their cuddles with the children who were very gentle with them. The ducklings also entertained everyone with a splash and a swim! 🦆🥰

Don’t forget Gateways parents and pupils can come along to our Friday breakfasts. There’s a range of tasty options to purchase ranging from a full English breakfast to coffee and pastries. You can also 'build your own' breakfast - veggie and GF options available. Parent and pupil breakfast runs every Friday from 8 – 8.30am in the dining hall. 😋🥞🍳🥓☕

Today in science, Lower 2k made a model digestive system. Scissors and a potato masher were used as the teeth, the stomach was made out of a plastic bag and orange juice became the stomach acid. The children particularly enjoyed squeezing the food (GF cereal) through the 'intestines' (a pair of tights)! A fun, memorable (and slightly messy) way to learn about the digestive system!

The school animals have been enjoying some time with the children today. Cherry joined Transition (year 1) for their English lesson this morning and was there to reward the children with some belly rubs for their good work. The rabbits came out this afternoon for a cuddle and the ducklings have been making the rounds too! Smiles all round! 🐶🐰🦆🥰
