Happy 8th Birthday, Theo! 🥳✨
A huge happy birthday to our wonderful son Theo, who turned 8 on Saturday! The Blossoms had the absolute best time celebrating with you. Over the years, all of our amazing Blossoms children and their families truly become a part of our own family, and we love sharing these milestones together. 💖
A massive thank you to Theo’s amazing Uncle Andrew for baking such a beautiful, delicious special cake for Theo to share with all of his friends! It was a huge hit! 🍰👦👧
Here’s to another fantastic year of growing, learning, and fun, Theo! 🎉🎈

🥳 Happy 2nd Birthday to our Blossoms! 🎂
What a truly magical day we’ve had celebrating the joint 2nd birthday of our two wonderful Blossoms! 🎉 The room was filled with so much laughter, music, and joy as all their friends came together to make their day extra special.
🎈 Active Play & Musical Magic
To celebrate their love for big movements and rhythm, we had some amazing surprises set up:
The Bouncy Castle & Ball Pit: A massive hit! The children loved jumping, rolling, and testing their physical skills.
A Brand New Piano & Microphone: Since both of our birthday stars love music and singing, they took center stage to perform some festive tunes for us all!
🍰 Party Time, Cake & Sharing
The celebrations didn't stop there! We all sat down for a delicious birthday party lunch and tea. All of their friends came together to sing a big, loud rendition of Happy Birthday before sharing some yummy cake.
Special Gifts: Both birthday Blossoms received a personalized present from the whole team.
Kind Hearts: In return, our sweet Blossoms brought in cupcakes and lovely party bags to share with all their nursery friends. 🧁🎒
We had the absolute best time celebrating these two incredible toddlers. Seeing their faces light up was the perfect reminder of how fast they are growing!

Today, our little explorers brought the beach right into our home! We turned our tuff tray into a mini seaside adventure, and the children have been deeply engaged in some fantastic sensory play.
There has been so many busy hands practicing their filling and emptying skills—scooping up the sand, watching it pour, and learning all about volume and capacity without even realizing it! We've also seen some incredible teamwork and focus as they patted down the sand to build rows of mini sandcastles. 🏰✨
What we are learning through this play
:
Physical Development: Strengthening those little hand and finger muscles (fine motor skills) by squeezing spades, pinching flags, and patting down sand castles.
Mathematical Development: Exploring size, weight, and capacity as they figure out exactly how many scoops it takes to fill a bucket to the top.
Communication & Language: Learning brilliant new descriptive words like gritty, damp, heavy, and smooth as they talk about what they are feeling.
Take a look at our little builders in action! 👇

Hello Sunshine! ☀️
This week, we’ve been soaking up every bit of the early summer sun! There is nothing quite like outdoor play to lift the spirits and spark those curious little minds. 🌿🌼
On a personal note, I wanted to send a huge, heartfelt thank you to all of my wonderful families. Your support and kindness during my recent time of grief have meant the world to me. You have all been truly amazing. ❤️
Self-reflection is such a big part of what I do, and this week has reminded me just how vital our outdoor adventures are. I’m feeling inspired and ready to fill our coming weeks with even more fresh air, discovery, and summer magic!
✨ Friendly Reminder: We are closed for the Bank Holiday Monday.
I hope you all have an incredible long weekend with your little ones. I can’t wait to see you all on Tuesday! 😍❤️ X # # #

Brushing Up on Our Smiles!
We had a very special circle time today inspired by our friend B, who is heading off for a visit to the dentist!
To help everyone feel brave and excited about dental health, we turned our classroom into a "Mini Clinic."
Here is what we explored:
What We Did Today:
Practice Makes Perfect: We all grabbed our own toothbrushes and practiced our "circular scrubbing" to make sure every tooth got some love.
Dentist Talk: We chatted about what happens at a check-up—from the special reclining chair to the "bright sunshine light" the dentist uses to see our smiles.
Healthy Choices: We talked about which snacks keep our teeth strong and sparkly.
🌟 Learning & Development (EYFS Link):
Activities like this are fantastic for supporting your child's growth in:
Personal, Social, and Emotional Development: Managing new experiences (like dentist visits) and building confidence.
Physical Development: Developing the fine motor skills needed to grip and move a toothbrush effectively.
Understanding the World: Learning about the people in our community who help us stay healthy.

🌟 Small Risks, Big Wins! 🌟
At Cherie Blossom safety is always our top priority. We have our rules for a reason, and we work hard to create a secure environment for all our little learners. But sometimes, if we stick too strictly to the "standard" way of playing, we can accidentally miss out on some incredible learning opportunities!
Today, one of our brave little Blossoms decided he wanted a new challenge: climbing up the slide instead of going down it.
While I usually encourage feet-first sliding, today I provided one-to-one supervision to let this little explorer take a "risky play" leap. The results were amazing!
Why do we sometimes "break" the rules?
By allowing supervised risk-taking, i saw so many developmental benefits:
Gross Motor Skills: Pushing against gravity requires incredible core strength and coordination.
Problem Solving: Navigating the slippery slope forced him to think about where to place their hands and feet.
Resilience & Confidence: The look of pure joy and pride when they reached the top was priceless!
Spatial Awareness: Learning how their body moves in relation to the equipment.
I believe that when children are supported to take calculated risks, they grow into confident, capable, and cautious explorers. Well done to our little mountain climber today!
✨ "A child who is never allowed to take a risk will grow up unable to assess danger." ✨

🏎️ Ka-Chow! A Very Special 4th Birthday 🏁
Today was all about speed, friendship, and a little bit of magic as we celebrated a very special 4th Birthday here at Blossoms!
Since our birthday boy is a massive Lightning McQueen fan, we spent the day in the fast lane! From racing cars to following all his favorite interests, the energy was high and the smiles were even bigger. 🏎️💨
A Bittersweet Milestone
This birthday feels extra special (and a little bit emotional!) as it’s his final birthday with us before he makes the big jump to primary school. To make the day even more memorable, we invited his friends from the year above to join us after school.
Old Friends & New Memories
It was truly beautiful to see "Blossoms" old and new reunited. Watching them play, laugh, and celebrate together reminded me why those close connections we build here are so vital.
Why I Do What I Do
Moments like today remind me why I’m so proud of my job. These little ones aren't just children in my care; they truly become like family to me. Watching them grow, gain confidence, and form these lifelong bonds is the greatest reward.
Happy 4th Birthday, little racer! Keep shining bright! 🌟

The children today gathered in the garden with high levels of energy and anticipation. Child B took an informal lead, pointing toward the plants and shouting, "Look, they might be hiding in the leaves!"
The three younger children followed his lead, peering under benches and behind planters. When the first chocolate egg was spotted nestled in the grass, there was excitement all round. Child B practiced turn-taking, encouraging the girls to pick up eggs he had found. The under-3s showed great determination, using their gross motor skills to navigate the uneven terrain of the garden and their fine motor skills to grasp the small eggs. All children remained fully engaged until the final egg was discovered.
