Key Stage 1 Trip- Mission Out 19.6.26
Reminders:
* Please arrive at school at normal time.
* Children should be wearing green school T-shirts, school green hoody/cardigan/jumper (this is so that they are easily identified), black shorts/jogging bottoms/leggings and trainers.
* Children need to bring 1 bag with a spare change of clothes, packed lunch- no nuts (unless you have ordered a school packed lunch) and a water bottle.
* We advise a sun hat and small raincoat.
* The forecast is due to be nice so please apply suncream before school. Children can bring suncream in their bag to reapply at lunch break. Staff will remind them to apply but cannot do it for them, nor can we allow them to use other children’s suncream for allergy reasons.
* Any parent helpers, please drop your child off at their classroom and sign in at the office. We will then go through the risk assessment and plans.
* Year 2 children will be setting off first (straight after register) then the coach will return for the year 1 children.
* All children will be back at school before the end of the school day- normal pick up arrangements will apply.
* Please do not send any money or additional items with your child. All bags will be kept in a trolley with a teacher in a central meeting area.

Sports Day 🏆

Thank you so much to everyone who came and supported us on Tuesday! What a day!!! 🥇🥈🥉

We are so proud of our children who showed great enthusiasm, determination and teamwork throughout the day. Whether they were running, jumping, balancing or cheering on their classmates, every child gave their best effort and demonstrated our REACH values brilliantly.

We were especially proud of the way the children encouraged one another, celebrated each other’s achievements and showed excellent sportsmanship. It was lovely to see so many smiles and hear so much cheering from both the children and their families.

A big thank you to all the parents, carers and family members who joined us to support the children. Your encouragement helped make the day extra special. Thank you also to our staff for organising such a successful event.

A special thank you to our children who helped out throughout the day, we couldn’t have done it without you!! You are all such wonderful role models!!

Fingers crossed 🤞 for good weather this week 🌞...RPS Sports Day is on Tuesday 16th June! The PTA will be selling refreshments and raffle tickets throughout the day. All money goes towards funding the RPS Forest School. Thank you in advance for your support!

🌟 PTA Move a Marathon Challenge is here! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️
We’re excited to launch our “Move a Marathon Challenge” this summer to raise funds for a very special project at Rothwell Primary School 🌳
From Monday 15 June to Friday 10 July, children are encouraged to complete up to 26 “moves” — that’s any physical activity they enjoy! Whether it’s walking, cycling, dancing, football, swimming, scootering or playing in the park… every move counts!

💡 How it works:
Children aim to complete up to 26 activities
Family and friends can sponsor them (per move or a fixed amount)
There’s no minimum — every effort makes a difference

📄 Sponsor forms are going home today, so keep an eye out in school bags!
📅 Please return all sponsorship money by Monday 13 July 2026
💚 What are we raising money for?
We’re working towards creating our own Forest School provision at RPS, helping children build confidence, wellbeing, independence and a love for the outdoors.

🌊 Reception Class Water Safety Visit 🌊

Today, Reception had an exciting visitor who shared an important message about staying safe around water, especially at the beach.

A special thank you to Puddleducks, Wakefield, for delivering such an engaging and informative talk. The children learned some very important water safety rules, including:

⭐ Always stay near a trusted adult when playing in or around water.
⭐ If you need help in the water, float like a starfish and stay calm.
⭐ Call for help and ring 999 if someone is in trouble.

We found out about what the different coloured beach flags mean to help keep us safe.Did you know? 💜 A purple flag at the beach means there are dangerous sea creatures in the water!

The children listened brilliantly and enjoyed learning these valuable life-saving skills. Well done, Reception Class! 👏

As the weather gets warmer, please help your child stay safe by sending them to school with a water bottle, a sun hat, and sunscreen applied before school. Please see the attached poster for more information.

Herd Farm update:

**Time update: ETA 2:25**

The coach is here. We will be leaving in 10 minutes. Our ETA back at school will be 2:15pm. We will go to the back gate, please park considerately and avoid parking near the gate to allow the coach to enter.

We will drive in to the gate, lock the gates and unload the children. We will run a similar system to home time.

we are packing up all our things ready for us to leave. We will update this Facebook post when we are leaving with our ETA. The children are very excited to see everyone when we get back. 🚌
