Sing and Sign Leeds

🤯 Week 7 had some trickier themes to get our heads around...

🤔 How to help little ones understand the concept of pain or feeling unwell so they can let us know 🤔

And we started to tackle the BSL alphabet in Stage 2, so families can use the 1st letter of their friends and family member's names when referring to them in person and conversations with their little ones. 🤩

🥰 Both of those themes need a high level of consistency at home - so we started talking about that with the tiny ones. It is the key to unlocking understanding for the babies- the more they see a sign in context, the more it starts to make sense.

And week 6 is 'All done'!

It's always an exciting week for Stage 2 as we introduce the potty for the 1st time 🤩 so much opportunity for conversation and signing!
'What' is it? A 'hat'? 🤔😆
'Who' is it for?

And when Jessie Cat needs the potty, we'd better be 'quick'!

👶🎶 Sing and Sign Leeds at the Old Girls' School Community Centre, Sherburn In Elmet 🎶👶

😵 We don't usually run our full 10 week courses over the summer, but Eleanor is looking forward to bucking that trend this year!

❤️ Stage 1 & 2 classes will be running throughout the summer holidays, giving you and your little one the perfect opportunity to join in the fun.

🧡 Our highly interactive, song-based classes are designed to help babies communicate before speech develops, giving parents and babies valuable tools to understand each other. And that magical moment when your baby signs back to you for the first time? It's absolutely priceless! 🥰

🌟 Stage 1: For babies aged 5–14 months
🌟 Stage 2: For toddlers aged 14–24 months

📅 New Term: 16th July – 17th September
⏰ Classes last approximately 45–50 minutes

Week 5 was last week, marking the half way point of our term. 🥳

Our 1st five week Babes courses came to an end, with the realisation that lots of the babies now recognise and respond to the 'milk' sign ❤️ it's certainly a motivational one to figure out!

Many Stage 1 families are really starting to see the benefits now, with lots of 1st signs being shown off 🤩

And we've got some brilliant signers in Stage 2 at this point in the course - from animals (including sound effects 🥰), to colours.

With the new Babes courses that started this week, and 5 more weeks of Stage 1 and 2 still to go, there's still so much fun and learning to be had! 🥳

I'm glad it was half term so we didn't have to try and Sing and Sign through the sweat 😖😆

But the week before that, we had a great time across our 3 age groups thinking about these themes...
