Yesterday, we said an emotional goodbye to Mr Westmoreland and Mrs Greaves, who between them, have been part of our Oulton family for over 60 years!

Our choir performed Miles Cyrus’s ‘Always Remember You’ for Mrs Greaves while she enjoyed a video montage of some of her best moments and memories from her time at Oulton.

Mr Westmoreland’s farewell was far less civilised and much more in keeping with the leaving assemblies that he has subjected staff to over his time at Oulton! His ‘Memory Lane’ challenge had him building a house of cards, juggling, completing an ‘I’m a Celebrity Get me Out of Here’ challenge, catching crackers and retrieving socks from baked beans - all with a messy twist! His prize was a luxury food hamper, made up of his challenge winnings and ‘kind’ contributions from extremely keen previous staff. The hamper was ‘presented’ to Mr Westmoreland by Miss Brown and former staff member, Mrs Thorpe - over his head! The assembly ended with a video montage of Mr Westmoreland’s time at Oulton Primary School and an inspiring speech from the man himself that left very few dry eyes among the staff in the hall.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Mrs Greaves and Mr Westmoreland for their huge contributions to our school and its community. Both have been extremely dedicated to their roles, showing an abundance of kindness and care to the children and staff they have worked worked with over their years of service.

We wish them lots of love and luck as they head into retirement and semi-retirement and can’t wait to welcome them back to hear all about their adventures!

What an amazing time Y3 and Y4 have had on their trips to Magna this week! All the children came back excited to share their favourite parts. We are so glad they had a lovely time exploring all the elements 🌬️🌏💧🔥 and could share all their science knowledge during the light workshop. 🌈🔦

🥚🐰🐣 HAPPY EASTER🐣🐰🥚

To all our families celebrating today, we hope you have a fantastic time.

On Wednesday, Mr McAlinden and Miss Copper had the near-impossible task of judging over 150 entries in our egg decorating competition.

After much deliberation, the winners were:

EYFS: Aria
KS1: Devon
LKS2: Edie
UKS2: George

They each received an Easter Craft Box, kindly funded by POPS - Parents of Oulton Primary School PTA. All children who took part were awarded with a certificate for their eggcellent effort!
